Turn 0: Welcome Abominations and Gentlemen!

The Golden Dragon Arena is a collection of structures, many devoted to providing food and other such amenities, but dominated by several clusters of arenas. The most iconic are a series of cylinders, large, circular, walled arenas for most any battling needs.

However, as you're all new and not very powerful, you'll be fighting on what is affectionately known as "The Lawn." It's a series of raised, tiled platforms people can stand near and watch, free of walls so they can peer around at any current match they choose.


For most of you, it's quite the relief when the announcer finally climbs up on stage. That particular stage happens to be on the second story of a somewhat pagoda-like structure, where he'll have an excellent birdseye view and be less in danger of being struck by flying combatants.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen!" he calls out through his microphone, confirming that he's talking to the audience and not you. "We have here today the first round of battles in this Golden Dragon Tournament!"

The crowd cheers. Nobody's even done anything yet...?

"As you know, this tournament will be between inexperienced but very promising combatants. I can't wait to see how it turns out!"

More cheering.

"Now then, if you'll please direct your attention to the scoreboard above this very booth, we're about to conduct the drawings for the tournament!"

The crowd goes to sort of an awed "ooooh" before quieting down, and a giant black screen on the third story of the presenter's building beeps helpfully before turning on.

That leaves Murderboat at 3. There we have it ladies and gentlemen, the tournament schedule!"

With that (and more cheering from the crowd) a nearby aide directs you to which platform you'll be fighting on.

"Hello, my fine opponent. While we fight, may I ask you a few questions?" Meran asked as he handily leapt forward, pushing off of the ground with his hands as well, to propel himself forward far more rapidly than he could have otherwise before landing a blow to the mannequin-like creature's gut while in midair. Using the force of his blow to propel him, he then dodged off to the side, rolling upright and returning to guard. A perfect example of the 'groundwalker' school of martial arts.

"I'm beyond touching. Last person I 'touched' filed a restraining order, and that's why I stick to camerawork now. Speaking of which, I bet some ladies up in that crowd would love a picture of this fight. But it's a bit dark, so I'll have to use the FLASH!"

Photograph Shanaxi with the flash setting on, and attack while he's stunned. Hope that the pain to his eyes causes him to yell "AAAH" in a Freddie Mercury voice, thus completing my musical moment.

Shout "Nyaaagh!" in a nasally voice.

Leap in a high arc to come down directly above Gangrenious and strike at his clavicles with both hands in a chopping motion.

Blankface shrugged in response to Meran, signaling "Questions would be fine."

Intercept Meran's flying assault with a jump kick to his facial region.

Shanaxi dashes forward, intent on flanking Flash, who simply raises his camera. A blinding light erupts from it, stopping Shanaxi dead in his tracks. He clutches his eyes and shouts "AAAH!" in a voice very reminiscent of Freddie Mercury before an ecstatic Flash delivers a powerful kick to his face.

Shanaxi goes flying to the other end of the ring, eyes and now face stinging.

Derm: Heavy blow to head, seeing stars, vision recovering

Baka Inu and Murderboat stare daggers at each other, thoroughly creeping out the crowd with their intense, wide-eyed expressions. Murderboat attempts to push himself too hard, however, while Baka Inu keeps the pressure nice and steady. The enraged dwarf is forced to clutch his eyes in pain and despair as Baka Inu emerges victorious.

Meran uses all fours to launch himself forward in a vicious flying kick. Blankface responds by launching himself forward with even more ferocity, catching Meran by surprise and bodyslamming him back with impressive force. The stunned Meran skids and rolls to a stop some distance away, clutching at his torso in ironic pain.

Gangrenious extends a hand, and a rather small swirl of force ripples out slowly at Murglau, who easily leaps above it in his own flying attack. He lands facefirst about halfway between their former positions with a nasally "Nargh!" a moment later, making Gangrenious feel slightly awkward about having dodged to the side of where he doubtlessly intended to land.
