Given that it's like magicka, people are probably gonna be offed fairly quickly. This might be an example of an rtd where the turns take less time as time goes on of we're lucky. Of course, that depends on whether the revive spell exists.

(By the way, are spellbooks like revive/haste/lightning bolt/etc going to be dropped in game, much like in magicka? Or are we stuck with basic elements?)

Magicks, as stated in the OP, can be bought. Once you buy it, you have it forever. HOWEVER...once you read it, it disappears. There are only a certain amount of each Magick Book in stocks, and eventually, certain Magicks will be unable to be found.

Yes, stronger Fire spells DO heal you more.

As for the Sawmill, I chose it as an option for the gimmick of the moving circular sawblades. It would be sure to claim more than it's fair share of Mage Lives. AND for the fact that there's two large pools of water that could easily give an advantage to Electric mages...And then there's the whole fact that the entire area is made of wood.
