IF we're gonna talk about quantities of what armament class, I suggest we look at actual battleship classes, such as the Yamato class and the Iowa class.  They had a few big guns as their main armament, a whole host of medium guns for closer range/smaller vessels/AA, and then a few small gun for defense.  We can likely nix the small guns since we will likely use our AA to defend from boarders, and the AA can be dual purpose, for both the bombardment and AA roles.
I posted Bismark armaments earlier. It had no medium guns. 5 in is a light gun for the navy of that time. Same for other battleships. Here is Yamato
Quote
9 x 46.0 cm (18.1 in) guns (3×3).
 6 × 15.5 cm (6.1 in) guns (2×3).
 12 × 12.7 cm (5 in) guns (6×2).
 24 × 25 mm (0.98 in) AA guns (8×3)
 26 × 13 mm (0.51 in) AA guns (2×2)

So it's 3 heavy turrets, 8 light ones against smaller ships and a bunch of AA guns. No medium guns (9-12 in cruisers used)

I dislike making our fortress life based, we have dwarf god that can arm us with a nice set of mechanical weapons that are not so  vulnerable as alive things. (and not need to eat) IMO, Most of armaments should be mechanical and stems are quite enough to man them. No need for new solutions when old work too.

And my focus is not on weapons but airbase role. Workshops\living chambers\breading pits\munition storages

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

I agree.

The two are not mutually exclusive. I'd like both.
My ideal image of the floating fortress is an armed arcology, ideally with some extra workshops and such.

Yearly tournaments. I like the sound of that, plus we already have the arena.

what's a breading pit?

Hey, life and chaos - breeding bread? Procreating money?

Agreed. Maybe Uristiel and Serena and such could get in on it.

Just ask him to leave enough space for future weapon placement for now we want some basic anti-air and the chaos death beam.

^ Do this also assign Lucien some stems so he can deal with his creation on his own.

No, basic anti-air, and a variety of air-to-ground "standard" weapons. The Death Ray will be added later.

How many do we have, again, available to make? One per manarack, or a stronger one with more manarack? In that case, let's figure out how much we all have to work with, and I'll give my idea...hehehehe

Nope, Krait hasn't explicitly said how much he's contributing - 42's all yours.

Suggestion time.

Chaos Spire. 6 manarack. Constantly shifting and mutating towering structure, changing between different styles of architectures and sometimes to things that certainly aren't architecture, in the more or less center of our fort. It does multiple things. One, being chaos, it can change what it does to a degree. Two, it projects a chaos order that dampens or nulls order magic in the vicinity. Three, that same aura allows our creations more agility, speed, intelligence, and change speed(for the growths n the Stem's hands, for example). Four, it allows other lacrimas to change what they are, though they're still the same size. Finally, it fucks with the heads of our enemies in the vicinity.

A Living Armory. 5 manarack. Grows any small hand held, and some large, weapons we might desire on a momen's notice.

Two Weapon Trees. Thanks to the Chaos Spire, these can take multiple weapon plat-forms. 8 manarack each. Usually they're arboreal artillery, firing explosive gourds indirectly at far off targets. These can of course, have differenT properties, from incendiary to fungus-air bomb. They can also by Micc Wyle(read: missile) Launchers. Small, suicidal, very fast, flying creatures that can track their targets, might have a shaped charge, shrapnel, etc. Typically weaker than the gourds, but more accurate and there's just plain more of them. Anything else we can really think of for them too, to be honest.

A Fire Station. Big bonfire looking thing. Shoot heat rays at stuff. 7 manarack. 'nuff said.

That costs a total of 34, leaving us eight plus Krait's for the smaller weapons, which are easily modifiable thanks to the Spire.

1. Yes.
2. Make it animal (producing bone weapons) and thats a yes from me.
3. Meh.
4. Nah. Instead, may I suggest a chamber in the centre of the fortress using those manarack to heat up an area for firejacket breeding. Maybe combine it with chaos to allow for mutation and customisation of the firejackets to certain situations.
