Is it possible to open the large gas tanks at automated gas stations? I tried a crowbar, hacksaw, screwdriver, acetylene torch, and hacking at it with my katana, all to no avail. In the end I just went hunting through the city and hoarded cash cards, then stole a whiskey keg from a liquor store and filled that up with gas. I nearly broke my spine on the way out and I had to snort meth to do it, but it was totally worth it.

You poured the whisky on the ground?  :'(

Who says that he did? He might have poured it into a container.

Such as himself.

I really hope so!
It would be sad to waste all that stuff.

Unfortunately, I had to dump it on the floor for the rats to drink, as there were many flesh-eaters breathing down my neck. Such is life in New England.

If it makes you feel better: I later visited another liquor store and mass-produced Molotovs, then proceeded to accidentally burn down a library with one.

So lets get this straight

>wastes booze
>finds more booze
>burns the new booze
>also burns a ton of books

What sympathy do you expect?

The kind that agents of the undead genocide get. I lifted the most useful books out of the library before it burned down, at least. The booze was sacrificed for the greater good!

Did you lure a big pack of zombies through the library or something? If so that would make your actions less absolutely abhorrent.

It was more a case of "the pack found me," but yes.

What in the raws determines the size of an explosion for a bomb-type item(C4, etc)? Is there any value for that?

"explosion_power"

There's also "explosion_shrapnel" and the various "field" tags for spreading things like smoke/fire/radioactive gas.

Yessssss.

Finally killed a chicken walker.

That thing was almost like a cartoon nemesis for my char ever since I ran into it in a barricade outside a city. The char is a martial arts specialists (by accident, not design - he was intended to be a ranged fighter, but SWAT armor and Krav Maga combo is just so good that he has went past 12 in Melee and Unarmed now) so even with a Rivtech shortgun I could at best plink away.

Its demise has come from its own cartoonish nemesisnessitude. I've been exploring a gun store I broke into earlier looking for a place to sleep, I opened a door - turned out it leads outside... and here it is, a chicken walker in some the opening of the side alley. Since I've been gearing up for the Final Showdown, I managed to pipebomb the damn thing.

Felt like a rite of passage. First 'fuck you, player' mob defeated. Although thanks to the new tailoring kit, it probably wouldn't have been that much of a threat if it hadn't had that grenade launcher, since even my char's briefs are reinforced with Kevlar (and leather). Actually, scratch that, that's not the silliest thing - I have my *wristwatch* covered in Kevlar.

Maxed-out martial arts is amazingly powerful, and I hope it never gets nerfed. The obvious drawback being that, no matter how good a dodger you are, you cannot do the matrix, and are thus dependent on terrain, luck, or armor (which often inhibits MA) to close the distance.

Without bionics, that's quite true. With bionics/mutations though...

Here's an idea - an improvised network that one could access if one had really good computer skills, where one could talk to NPC's and get information (and maybe proper help, too). I know there are already radios, but I was thinking something kinda like the early internet, especially as depicted in cyberpunk.
A radio-based network is feasible, along with a voice communication system.  They'd be great equipment sinks and nice for helping you find faction locations once that's developed some more.
