Hmh, this bionic removal thing makes me think of a regeneration-type mutation which heals you very fast and slowly removes all your bionics (broken or not) since they are foreign objects in the body.

Oh, you mean the Medical mutation tree? Yeah, I've heard that one makes you basically unkillable (though I'm sure Tank Drones would have something to say about that).

You can trade with her, learn skills from her (cost things tho), and tell her what to do in combat (use suppressed weapons or normals, grenades or no, when to attack things), and tell her when to sit at some place.

I guess that's a lost oppurtunity for a dirty joke, since I already figured that out from the dialogue tree. That said, I do happen to have a vibrator at my home base.

I'm thinking of that scene in Men in Black where K blows off Jeebs' head.

Your right, my medical mutant a while back was ultimately killed in a single turn by a chicken walker. N' they aren't as bad as tank drones, as at least I've once or twice survived a shot from them.
Though unkillable is bit of an exaggeration, n' things with guns aren't terribly impressed by medical mutants 'cause they don't actually get much that makes them tougher damage wise (other than a very nice +50% hp). Most of their mutations focus on making all other negative effects irrelevant.

Chicken walkers are approximately as dangerous as pudding. Usually they just blow themselves up, which is hilarious. However, like pudding, they can still cause fatalities in the unprepared or unlucky.

How easy would it be to make ammo bandoliers or pouches?  The idea would basically be that it stores ammo the same as a quiver, and preferably you can reload without removing it from the pouch.  It could be that it only stores one type of ammo at a time, and only to a certain volume/weight/count.

I think those bandoleers should be easy.  Like you said: they're basically the quivers, except with a different ammo-type constraint.

Speaking of modding ideas:

1. A single use CBM removal kit could be a sensible and balanced safe way to remove CBMs.
2. A hard-to-install CBM that allows you to use power to swap CBMs in and out might be balancable, I think.

Although, the mod system doesn't allow code addition yet, so we couldn't mod either of these in.

What exactly would be the point to making bionics easy to swap?  The vast majority are simply "you put it in and if you don't want it, you don't activate it" or "it's broken, take it out and leave it out".  Only a few, like dermal plating, have passive penalties you'd want removable...

I think the discussion is risk-free bionic removal. Seeing as there's a high chance you'll suffer massive injuries under normal circumstances.

Yesterday I failed three bionic installs without getting any new broken CBMs, so maybe it's not as big of a problem as I thought.

Getting the OS-X version of this to run was a huge pain in the ass.

Turns out I had to download the Lua 5.1 and 5.2 source code, build dylib things with the correct versioning and put them in /usr/local/lib/
