Brass Catchers: never leave home without em.

Related: It took me a long time to figure out that firing off ANY 40mm grenade yields a canister. So if you want that 40MM buckshot feel free to use the smoke grenades in a field somewhere to free up the canisters.

40mm buckshot (This goes for all games with Gl buckshot rounds): Whats more important, keeping your ears alive or making nice holes in things?
(Bonus points if you know what game I mostly mean)

Right, I have to ask. Previously, (e)xamining an item outside your inventory would bring up a description in the opposite pane, and that description would change automatically if you moved the selector. Now, you have to re-press e again for every new item. Is this change intentional? I much prefer the older style.

EDIT: *in the advanced inventory window. Words is hard.

Think I found a bug. Was shooting at a cat in shallow water with a recurve bow I took off an NPC and chipped heavy wooden arrows. When I picked them back up, they were normal wooden arrows.

EDIT: Okay... Yeah I see what threw me but I'm still not clear on the labeling. At fabrication 5 you get: wooden arrow, sharpened metal arrow, heavy fletched field point arrow, heavy fletched fire hardened arrow, heavy wooden arrow, metal arrow, plastic arrow

Of those... all of them except sharpened metal arrow are fletched... which makes plain metal arrows better than sharpened metal arrows, and breaks the naming pattern from before. So... mystery solved.

Worth taking a look at. If you don't have a GitHub account, I'll make a note of it myself.

and add in a couple of home-made rangefinder sights that only work on bows to cover the difference. Make the rangefinders require archery 3 fabrication 3, and archery/fabrication 5 or 6, cutting tool, 1 spray can charge, duct tape, and a plastic chunk. or metal ones at higher fabrication, I dunno.

That's a great idea!

I wish there was a configurable 'redo last recipe with the same settings' button. If you have, for example, two cooking elements, it becomes a bit tedious to navigate through them when making a large amount of something (like clean water).

I wish for immortality, ultimate power, and a 15 foot penis.

It was in reply to scrdest wasting a wish on something the devs might put in without supernatural coercion. Like I said, HATE when people waste wishes. I mean, what if some genie HEARS YOU? You just wasted your shot at immortality. And then you feel stupid.

You fool, don't you know that not being specific means you get unintended consequences?

a 15 foot penis might make your penis into 15 feet (sans shoes and socks)

also none of your wishes state who you want them to happen to. Do you want your mother to have a 15 foot penis!?!?!?

plot twist: it was 15 mosquito feet. Wishing for immortality without eternal youth is a Bad Idea.

If I were the genie I'd give him everything he wants without any underhanded semantic acrobatics. Being forever crippled by a useless five metre dong is quite enough for my twisted genie misanthropy.

Is there a way to keep saves from automatically purging themselves on death? I say this because I quicksave a lot and yet when I try and something just slightly deadly and I die, there's no point in all that quicksaving because they've all purged themselves.

You can back them up periodically. Just shove a copy of the whole world folder somewhere. Just make sure to delete the old one or weird stuff will happen if you overwrite.

I know it's been said here before but I'm literally having meat rot the second I cook it, even if I rush immediately back home (like... 40 minute walk, tops) and cook it the second I kill it. What?

I've also had food that was good rot IN COOKING but the raw ingredients from the same stack were still fresh while un-cooked.

... What?
