um, hey. why cant players create manually powered vehicles? (eg bike, foot scooter)

You can, just put a footcrank and various other things on the vic!

I made a foot powered shopping cart back in .7 however it failed horribly...

Just a sidenote, I emphasize .7 because it might've changed by now, not quite sure how vehicles work now in terms of foot powering.

It IS important. Now you have different type of frame for light vehicles such as bikes or carts, which are WAY lighter, and Foot Crank power is now much lower (and realistic, it used to be absurdly big to be able to move that 1-ton bike).

Minor bug:

If you change the console size, without closing and reopening cataclysm, when you go to make a new world, the mod manager appears where it should be if the console size were the new size, without the console resizing itself to the larger size.

Just had a very horror movie moment. Playing an "unretired" cop, slowly fighting my way through a school. Double static spawn, so there's a lot of.. people around. Liberal usage of caltrops for indirect kills helps keep morale. After the first day the school is almost cleared out, but I've got no skills yet to start setting up, don't even have a flashlight. Getting tired. Night falls just as I finish reading another chapter of Under the Hood, gaining a level. Raided the school fridges for food in the low light, hugged the walls back to where I remember there being a restroom. Closed the door, moved the nearby sinks to block it, sprinkled caltrops around. The school isn't completely clear yet, so there is some scraping and whumping coming from somewhere. Can't tell if nearby. Preparing to sleep. Decided to use a stall for sleeping, just to put another door between myself and any intruders. Opened stall door. Zombie Child right in my face. Shot it in the head with .45 caliber, blood and bits of child zombie everywhere. Blood-curling girly scream of the seasoned police officer remained on the other side of the screen. Had to eat a few cookies to calm down and go to sleep - curled up in a corner behind the remaining sink. Damn it game, you are scary sometimes.

Were zombies made weaker in relation to bashing down doors? In previous builds a single zombie would bust down a door fairly quickly. So far, I've noticed that zombies end up pounding a lot longer on doors, sometimes never breaking them down in the time I'm there.

Never mind, was just missing a library.

D'oh.

So, the new release is pretty awesome. Love the new professions and stuff, but the tough zombies are annoying. I died in about ~20 minutes from that.

Yeah. Instead of old "unemployed" you have Survivor and a bunch of new stuff; several new bionic characters, Student in particular is cheaper and comes with a bunch of free books and hobos get more stuff too. There are also separate male and female versions of professions, with underwear changing to match.
