I started my first run playing the 0.a release candidate with a maid who specialized in cutting weapons and throwing. It turns out Sakuya Izayoi isn't really cut out for fighting zombies. She is only human after all. Or maybe I should have used better knives than glass shivs.

Glass shivs are really crap, try to find a steak knife or something thing like it.

Are you playing on dynamic spawn? If so, no idea.

If you're playing the default static spawn, what you see is what you get. No more zombies after the first clear, (though they can revive if you didn't .make.sure. They were dead.). As in Smash their corpses.

Or make a stone knife. Doesn't take much either. Though I suppose it's only good as a tool, not a weapon. I tend to use two-by-fours as a makeshift quarterstaff until I manage to find something better.

Speaking of tools, the fire drill (which is far less awesome than it sounds) requires something called "skewers", which I suppose are specially made wooden sticks - which kinda defeats the purpose of it being a basic way to start a fire, because I have no idea how to make skewers, and have equally no idea why I don't know how to make them considering they're basically wooden sticks, and I have a wood saw as well as a selection of other cutting tools. I know how to make the drill itself, but not how to make small wooden sticks. *sigh*

Take a knife, and activate it.  Use it to cut up a heavy stick into 10 skewers.

...

You know, I did notice the word "wood" in the knife activation options. It just didn't properly register with me. >_>
Okay, problem resolved, thank you, carry on.

edit: Not a bug but a "wtf" moment: Playing as a person who hates fruit. Find peanut butter sandwich. Peanuts are apparently fruit.

I killed a Shoggoth. In a manner that only a Schizophrenic (which my character is, along with being augmentation-psychotic and Psychopathic) could think of.

I used a mininuke as a hand grenade.

And I survived.

Ehh. I downloaded the master file from github for compiling on Linux, and I'm getting buckets of warning about ints and unsigned ints and enumeration values not handled in wswitch, or summat.
Those are all 'what you are doing isn't best practice and may cause problems in very rare specific situations' warnings. We recently removed them from our warning suppression for normal builds as we started cleaning them up. To suppress them you can either edit the makefe a tiny amount or add "RELEASE=1" to your make command.

Also glad to see that everyone is having fun with this release. With any luck it should turn out to be extremely but free for all of you (as opposed to the buggy mess .9 was when it first came out :P).

I'm on Linux SDL, and my executable isn't working.

I hit execute and get a long command line error message that I can't pick apart.

EDIT: It appears that the problem is something to do with not having the right libraries.

You can, just put a footcrank and various other things on the vic!

I made a foot powered shopping cart back in .7 however it failed horribly...
