A bear apparently decided to attack my car while I was looting in a nearby city...not a zombear, a bear a regular bear.  I was nowhere near the car.  It appears to have sniped out my car's alternator and battery with the precision of a bulldozer, and now I'm stuck in the middle of a zombie infested city, at sundown, in an acid drizzle, 2 trunks full of loot, and a nonfunctional car.

This is going to be a fun night.

So, a few more noobz questions

1. How smart is it to fight about 10 zombies with a combat knife and minimal slashing training?
2. Any tips for a new survivor?
3. Power Mk2 or Kevlar+combat pants+tactical full body gear. Like, all of it.
4. I've found multiple vehicles, but they're all out of fuel. Is it worth it to retrace my steps and try and fill them up? How scarce are functional cars/trucks?
5. Is it very often that you find a group of human corpses full of guns and equipment? Like, a dead army squad?

1) Not very. use a bush or a window.
2) Plenty. search the thread for that phrase, many will come up.
3) Power armor doesn't let you carry ANYthing without a carry harness. I'd honestly prefer lighter layered clothes to either option.
4) Pick one you like and keep it, or scrap them all for parts and build your own.
5) It's not an every day occurrence but it's not rare enough to be miraculous either.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

As an addition to #4 the cars you find in towns are almost all disabled with some kind of mechanical failure, most are either missing wheels or missing an engine but actually have a little bit of fuel.  If you can find a jack and a wrench and have a little mechanics skill you can pretty easily take the tires from one of the cars missing an engine, and put them on a car missing tires and have a functional vehicle.

Another option is going out into the rural roads, cars are rarer out there, but they are almost always intact, and just need a little gas and a jump from some batteries.  As a bonus the cars out there tend to be bigger stuff like semis, and armored cars.

P.S. As a followup to my previous post I managed to defeat the zombies that followed me back to my car then waited for it to stop acid raining.  Then I abandoned my old car and walked back to home base.  I was dead tired, and it was past midnight but now I can work towards salvaging my car.

Also, is there a tile set that provides graphics for everything?
I'm not complaining, just voicing my thoughts, but most tile sets that I've tried have the # sign, % sign, and these other signs: ; , [ :used a lot. Are there any with sprites for them? Most of the time they're guns or small items anyway.

See, the thing is, spriting takes a lot of time, coding a new item is often a matter of copying another and changing some values.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

Okay, so should I hold off on new games until 1.0?  Or just shift over . . .

Also, I delete every world when 1 character dies.  Is this unusual here?

I tend to keep updating to the latest and greatest so I just get a new world every time. When I stay on a version long enough to have multiple characters it depends on how long my last one lived. If he was able to settle down and setup a nice little place I make a new world because it feels like cheating to just take his house. If my last character died relatively quickly or he just traveled around and didn't set anything permanent then I tend to keep it.
