Try building your next warbus over one. It will get built, it just will get stuck.

I'm starting to think maybe the problem with shrubs is peoples conception of them.  I'm seeing them as pretty big things now.  I mean you bash them and they turn into the brush you find in thick forests before they go away.  Those buggers have to be pretty big.

Some shrubs are big as can be, bigger than trees, but most are relitivly small.

Here's a new one.... my vehicle ran OVER and bush but didn't destroy it. So now it just can't move. I can't actually GET TO the bush to destroy it, so there's a few more days wasted because of what's still by far the shittiest change to the game ever. Awesome.

I suspect that might be part of it. We're not talking about cultivated gardens, we're talking about wild bushes.

Spoiler: This (click to show/hide)

That second one is a wild blueberry bush, coincidentally one of the same types that you find in-game. They're not little waist-high bundles of leaves, they're small trees.

-FTFY

Regardless, the new system has basically added nothing but frustration since it came in. It was a bad change.

There's no treads in this game, so... yes?

We need treads and better turrets...

And speaking of turrets, MG ones seem to be borked.

I'm not arguing that the way things are now is good, but what we (you) build isn't anywhere close to a "tank" in the proper sense. Most of the "battlebus" designs I see posted here are 3-4 tiles wide. That means that they're only 33%-50% wider than the sections with their tires, which is actually narrower than RL sedans (and, IIRC either narrower or the same width as ingame sedans). An ingame bus would be a minimum of five tiles wide, and a realistic one (with four lines of seating) would be seven wide. Combine that with the patchwork way they're built and it isn't entirely implausible for them to get caught up on obstacles like that at lower speeds, branches getting stuck in the frames, wheel-wells, and whatnot.

It is, of course, utter bullshit for the damage to propagate through the entire vehicle, or for it to be much more than scratches and dents on the front if you weren't going at high speeds.

Spoiler: Here's my phallic bus (click to show/hide)

By in-game scale, it takes up an entire lane of a road, and does in fact weigh more than 3 tons. It's still stopped completely dead by a bush I can 1-shot with a nailbat. I've driven over thicker brush in real life with a tractor that weighs less and had no problems, let alone one isolated stick in an urban lot.

(just playing devil's advocate, here. I don't think the numbers make rational sense any way you look at them)
(oh, and yes there are legit reasons the van was built like a dong)

I believe we can pretty much agree here that the size of the bush, the toughness of tires, and the weight of vehicles is actually totally irrelevant.  The bottom fact is that you cannot drive vehicles through fields because of bushes, and you cannot drive them through streets because of debris.  This is no longer fun, and the game has lost appeal.  All realism aside, it's detracting from gameplay experience and making a very large part of the game totally unworkable.
