The roads are clogged with wrecks, or don't go where you need to go.

There's two main problems with driving:
1: No matter how big your vehicle, it can't run over a shrub at low speed.
2: No matter how much damage you deal to a vehicle, the part damaged isn't removed from the map, making it impossible to 'barge through' wrecks on the road.  Instead the wrecks just collect in front of you and stop you.

Agreed on roads being useless unless you only want to travel between towns. I've had to clear one side of a street in town by manually disassembling wrecks in the road, but more than two or three cars and it's just frustrating.

I think I'm going to just put a vehicle bay on the back of my tankbasemobile and just use a motorcycle with sidecar tanks/storage to get around in towns. It's less painful with a vehicle welding rig to just do that instead of create traffic jams or dodge-the-bush.

I haven't had any problems with bushes in Romero; I took a regular car I found and drove through the countryside just fine. I spawned a motorcycle just now and drove through a bush at 30 speed and it just made me skid.

We can "dock" vehicles now? How?

You can't. My idea was to have a trunk just for the parts to a small motorcycle and construct it on the spot using the vehicle welder.

Fun fact: You can access a Vehicle Welding Rig 2 tiles away, even if there's a wall in the way.  I consider this a 'feature' as it seems a good idea that the welding equipment could be mounted on an external panel, with all the batteries and converters on the inside and just the tools available to the outside via a small utility hatch.  Utilizing this, you can utilize vehicle utilities from outside, which can aid in rebuilding motorcycles or quickly cooking some meat.

7 part minimum, if I remember right. 8 if you want storage. 9 with a seatbelt.

1 frame
1 pedals
2 wheels
1 seat
1 controls
1 storage

7 parts

On the other hand, using a dragging rig, you only need as many frames as you want storage.

I was thinking more like a small engine, two wheels, and a saddle. Everything else you can get by backing up to a chassis and hacking off frames as needed. Cars near a town (where I'd need the smaller vehicle) are ubiquitous, and condition is irrelevant since you can repair anything right there with the vehicle rig.

Pedals. I forgot they were a thing. That cuts out an engine with gas tank.

Are there not foldable bicycles? I know that they can be unfolded though I never figured out how to refold it but yeah that would work if you can do so would it not?
Also for those interested I have a video up now where I am playing 0.8 with the Holder Tileset on. It is a bright tileset but I like the size and feel it gives even if it is somewhat missing the darker feel. Anyway the video is here.

Environmentalism is so important that even the zombies are going green.

Don't give the devs ideas guys. We do not need zombie cyclists, or bikies, or any kind of zombie driving.
