I have to ask because this happened during my last gameplay.
I was easily walking inside a city.
Yes, a city with zombies where the usual suggestion is 'don't go there first things first if the zombie are already spawning'.
Anyway, I find myself staring this GIANT cloud of smoke and fire that seems to be pretty much engulfing everything.
So I make my best 'Forrest Gump' imitation and start running away from it.
Hilarity ensues as I'm thus pursue by two giant wasps, three shrieker zombies, an electric one and two spitters.
I was singing the Benny Hill theme in my head as my little @ dashed away...
Of course the rest of the zombies soon were engulfed by the flames and the smoke, while a giant wasp killed me before I could see the smoke 'come less'.
So the question was...what the hell is that giant cloud of smoke all about!?

“Do something!” she whispered, trying to keep her sight on all of them at once.
Basileus clapped his hands once. The Forgotten took a step forward, attracted by the sound.
“There, I did something. I clapped. I like clapping,” he said. -The Investigator And The Case Of The Missing Brain.

No, no...it was sort of...
Massive.
Like, it stretched from tile to tile all the way from one side of the road to the other, and there was fire.
It felt like being in Stalker: Clear Sky when there's the anomaly coming down from the sky and tearing everything apart.
That type of 'smoke' is what I'm referring to.

Just make small fires, it doesn't have to be a 3x3 pile of bodies to make it count as a real zombie bbq party.
It was literally the remains of two zombies and a chunk of splintered wood.

STALKERCLYSM? Actually, thinking on it, something like anomalies would be a pretty cool addition to the game, assuming it's workable.

I think I vaguely remember those. Still, it'd be cool to see more effects, and ones not tied to an item or mob, too.

Random Earthquakes.
You felt happy and safe in your entrenched house eh?
Well, no longer!

Random destruction of the paved road from overgrowth!

You felt safe in your Car-Of-Doom going through the roads uh? Now no more!

Random lava pouring from the sky.

You felt safe hiding somewhere on the surface? Now no more!

Random Volcano Eruption!

You felt safe...
Nah, who am I kidding? YOU ARE NEVER SAFE.

I THINK I HAVE FOUND GLITCH

In the latest expiremental curses build(7.1 or 0.6 I forget as it's been a while since I downloaded it) When trying to load up a world after exiting regardless of death or Saving and quitting., it comes up with an error(Picture in spoiler)

I have no clue what I can do to fix this if it is a problem I can fix, but I thought I should let you guys know.

Spoiler: Error (click to show/hide)

EDIT: I should also let you know that if you reset the save games and world, you can make a new world and play just fine UNTIL you have to load up a save or die then it fucks up

Curses.

Might redownload just in case.

That is what reset does no? If so, then yes I have and the problem persists when loading and/or dying and starting a new character

Are anomalies still in the game? I have yet to see one. I've seen just about everything else, even saw marloss a couple times, but no anomalies.

They aren't in the game, they're just a suggestion for a gameplay mechanic.
