Use them for a barricade while you are starting a new character, then jump out the window?

Broken consoles are the most disappointing things on earth. I always see them and wish they were working so I could train my computer skill. And the only one you find early on that works is the damnable evac shelter computer that just displays a message.

Does anyone know how to pickup items bound to 'aa, 'ab, 'ac, or similar without using the advanced inventory (/) menu?

Hit ` (on Qwerty keyboards it shares a key with ~) and then input the two letters that correspond to the item you want to pick up.

Observation:  It rains too damn much.

Like, seriously.  I don't think I have ever seen an in-game day where it didn't rain at least 4 hours.  More commonly, it's at least drizzling for at least 2/3 of the day.  I understand it's post-apocalyptic weather and everything's gone crazy... but it gets frustrating eventually.

I think that's actually just how new england is. I would observe that it's either too much or too little rain: t rains for days, then it doesn't rain for days.

So I downloaded the new version off the main page (stable, windows), but the font fix that worked for 0.6 is doing nothing for 0.71...

I have TerminusBold-4.38.ttf sitting in the "font" folder and my FONTDATA file looks like this:

Code: [Select]
C:\Documents and Settings\Flamey\Desktop\Cataclysm DDA\data\font\TerminusBold-4.38.ttf
8
16

...but it's still displaying the exact same font it did out of the box. Anyone have any ideas?  :(

On American English QWERTY keyboards ` shares the same key as ~. Does that help solve matters?

Just a quick question, what's the difference between Windows Curses and SDL builds? Which one should I be grabbing? (Win7 x64)

What build they rely on. Generally on Windows the SDL one runs faster, on linux the curses one runs faster.

Grab SDL.  If you're not sure of -exactly- how your computer is running or which is faster or whatever, then grab SDL and don't worry about it.

If that crashes on you, grab Curses then!
