It's invisdabulled. You can only gauge its number by what you eat/use. It randomly goes up and down as time passes regardless of what you do; though it tends to head towards zero.

Oddly enough, eating two pieces of raw meat is as unhealthy as snorting crack.

Huh. And I thought there was virtually no downsides to eating a diet of cooked meat (fresh) (hot) and clean water. Maybe I should start taking vitamins, then, too.
He said raw. but yes, vitamins help. And the odd berry bush is nice to consume.

Not to be nitpicky, but the FAQ in the help still tell you to contact Whales.
Where exactly are you looking? The only people I see it telling you to contact are TheDarklingWolf and the cataclysm forums.
If you press ? in the game and then 4, then go to the last page, it'll tell you to contact whales.
Then again, it might already be removed since I'm playing on an obsolete version.

Hmm, yes. I meant to ask about this. Is the sound indicator not functional yet? Mine's been zero for my entire game. At first I thought maybe it would only indicate continuous noise (like when driving a vehicle) but it stayed at zero even when I was driving my motorcycle at 100 km/h...

Are the Jabberwock's something that was added post 0.5 stable release? I've not seen one myself but it seems everyone else is having quite a few visits (McJester is in a world that I compiled between 0.4 and 0.5, on the 28th of April)

He's doing okay though, I've still got to drive him back to the evac shelter as I said I'd do at the end of the last episode, and get his inventory in order. But I think the Fungle bloom/spire near Hope is way too much of a problem to leave unchecked. I think I'm going to load him up on gear and filter masks, and probably his royal jelly too, then send him off on his first proper search & destroy mission.

We're going to reclaim Hope, first from the fungaloids, then from the blobs, and finally from the zombies. Hope, and more importantly, its stocks of precious tea, shall be ours!

So the ant expedition went well. I decided that beer wasn't sufficient, and the classier option was a gallon jug of whiskey (70), as well as cocaine and Adderall. I didn't get the satisfaction of grappling with the queen, as my first molotov surprisingly hit dead on, despite having an effective -2 perception while throwing.

My question is, do ant eggs rot? If not, I think my food problems for the next 8 years are solved.

Also, you play without static spawn?

*facepalm* I never stuck around to see zombies reanimate so I thought the game was spawning more.

If I kill all the enemies in the area am I safe until I run out of food?  Or are there wandering enemies?

   Animals can spawn but they won't beat down doors or anything so the bears, wolves, and spiders won't be able to do anything to you if your careful. Also to note its ONLY zombies that don't spawn in so areas other than towns where there are hostiles won't be as safe.
