I just died a slow painful bleedy death due to bleeding out but not being able to tell where from. Each full-body cautery caused more pain, getting me slower and hit more often etc.
Any way to see where you're bleeding from in the GUI?

I think its a survival/tailoring recipe so your survival and tailoring may not be high enough

If it's not on the crafting menu then you're not skilled enough. I believe that bone needle needs survival 3.

Don't make it in a forest or a house. Use plains instead. Scrap wood and paper wrappers tend to cause the least damaging fires.

Don't cauterize yourself. That's to sterilize wounds. What you need to do is either use bandages to stop the bleeding, or cut clothes into rags with your knife and apply them to attempt to stop the bleeding. First aid also can stop bleeding, IIRC.

And incidentally, the brute zombie's supposed to more or less the charger from L4D2.
You haven't even run into the tank equivalent, yet. THey're fun.

Because I met one of those.  When the first shot from my sawed off shotgun didn't put it down I thought I might be in trouble.  When the second misfired, I started to get very worried.  When the next four shots (reloaded WHILE IT WAS PUNCHING ME, because I had no other guns with ammo) didn't do it, well, I died.
