Wow, that sounds pretty cool man :D

The stuff you can find is pretty nice though-- people growing mary J in the basement... other people with freaking armouries in their basements...

And oh lord those LMOE shelters are freaking glorious. First one I found didn't have much, the next one had a freakin armoury.

The only item I really want right now though is a hammer-- and maybe some duct tape, but the only hardware store is right in the middle of the city-- and every time I kite some Zeds out to slaughter em I keep getting boomers, which keep exploding and drawing more Zeds.
As soon as you have a hammer you can do so much stuff instead of just pushing furniture against the windows.

Also dear LORD do NOT venture near a FEMA camp unless you have a deathwish. All this for a few butter knives? Geh.

Found a couple military ID cards, so I went over to the nearby military bunker.

I found a military bunker in my current world, but after clearing out the soldier zeds (by kiting with a crossbow, <3 crossbows) I couldn't figure out how to activate the Military ID cards so the turrets wouldn't paste me.  I think I tried simply 'use'-ing one, with 'a', and I don't think it worked.  How did you activate yours?

But the turrets are outside of the bunker.  I just have to try to not get plastered by the turrets while running for the console...?

At least FEMA camps only have normal Z's and soldiers. If you have a speed advantage, you can trick them into running back and forth over the barbed wire. But for me they are one of the more horrifying aspects of the game. Basically, to me at least, they seem like mini concentration camps. I once cleaned one out and looked through the supplies. The usual civilian mismatch of goods in the main areas, but then I got to the "camp supply area". You know, the bit with crates that actually contain supplies, presumably the main supply store for the camp. As usual, these crates are unopened, indicating that this was the last supply drop before the government folded and that the camp was overrun before they could use it. I Examine the crates and take a note of their contents:

Building supplies, not that interesting.

Shovels. Like 4-5.

Gas masks and filter masks.

One Paper Wrapped Chocolate Bar.

One bottle of water.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like equipment for a death camp at all.

Labs are the worst though, specifically the medical sections. Never mind the dissector trap, have you ever thought about the contents of those shelves? In one room the medical supplies were: a machete, scissors, a butcher knife, a plastic bag and 3x bloody rags. Also note that painkillers, medical grade or otherwise, are not to be found in labs.

Maybe I overthink Cataclysm.

Well FEMA would be one of the agencies trying to manage such a crisis-- and considering the situation I think mass graves are the smart choice. having piles of corpses lying around isn't exactly hygenic :S

From the one science lab I managed to get into I was kinda suprised, I didn't find anything like that. just endless rooms filled with chemicals and stuff-- of course, I didn't go anywhere near the turrets and it seemed like a freaking huge lab, but still.

Also but goddamn I need a shovel. Maybe I should go find another fema camp... I can't find any farms nearby at least.

There are no turrets outside bunkers (black B on the map), thats a military base (black M on the map) if it has turrets.

Best/only way to deal with turrets is to get a high powered rifle and go after them in the dark (they cant see in the dark more than a few squares), you get first shot and oneshot them, thats all she wrote

You can Katana them to death with the help of darkness and meth, but you will be hurt by the death explosion. In fact, dark is really useful for taking out turrets, as they glow and show up even when your flashlight or whatever is off, letting you target them from darkness. Same thing with shockers.

Military base then, sorry about that.

Nice, I'll have to try coming back in the dark, then.  Thanks for the info :)

There are turrets outside of military bunkers now, or at least there are for some of them. There's a bunker just north of my current safehouse, and it's definitely got a turret. Unfortunately.

edit: or maybe I'm completely wrong! I just checked the bunker, and there's no turret there. Which is weird, because I remember getting shot at by something.

That reminds me, I really have to finish adding floodlights to turrets and issue a pull request ^_^

My cocaine crusader is still going strong, even though he hasn't used cocaine since day 2.  Now on day 9.  Combat skills are pretty high.  Been manually cleaning out a small suburb by hand over the last few days, scavenging through every building as I go.  Building up other survival skills whenever I have leftover xp or time to read.

Found a couple military ID cards, so I went over to the nearby military bunker.  Never actually been in one before.  Holy shit.  I just found a room stuffed full of CBMs.  Pumped myself full of Adderall and am now sporting Internal Climate Control, Air Filtration System, Head Alloy Plating, Recycler Unit, Blood Analysis, Water Extraction Unit, and a Finger-Mounted Laser.  Now I just need to find a power source.  I have a Metabolic Interchange, but I'm not sure if I want to install it.  Can I uninstall it later if I find one I like better?

This is by far my best character ever, as sad as that is :P  Kinda excited.
No, you cant uninstall. but recycler will mostly negate its effect of draining your nutrients.

How do you push furniture around?

Thanks in advance!

Push * and the option is near the bottom of the list.

I seem to have a bug, I am wearing no clothes and still have 3 encumbrance on all body parts.
