Only air filter and electro magnet. A save and quit hasn't fixed it.

You're probably carrying more stuff than you have storage for

Yes, thanks.
Ironically I was storing my backpacks to have less encumbrance. Didn't realise that was a feature.

Moving furniture in front of windows and doors is pretty nice, as it can block LOS. remember though they can still see through the diagonal slits (and enter through them) unless you push up more stuff than there is, so

"" <--- 2 windows would take 4 pieces of furniture to block completely.
then again, as long as you don't go into the diagonal parts you should be golden. There's some small corridors where you'll never go, so it's pretty nice.

Oh-- update on the furniture/ boarding windows stuff.

If a window is closed, try pressing c on it again.
Closes the curtains just figured that out. :D

Of course I just walked into a mansion-- practically every wall is a window. There's a huge library, but no kitchen.
And there's no curtains. I was kinda expecting chess-themed puzzles and a basement with a secret research lab filled with T-Virus samples, but eh.

The furniture also provides a defensive bonus to the terrain it's pushed against, so it's harder to smash.

An attempted murder of an NPC just resulted in a hilarious sequence of events. I approached them, looking for maybe training or a fellow traveler to company me, but all they wanted to say was "blah blah blah my dead mother in the center of the mega doom city". Obviously a lackwit not long to survive the apocalypse! No reason someone else should loot the useful stuff from their soon-to-be corpse! So I gave 'em the old "hammer to the head" a couple of times and checked the combat log. No pulling out of shotguns, just tick X2. Tick? What? I whack them again. Tick. Hmmm. I look around with x. I look at my feet. "Active mininuke (4)". Shit!

Luckily I was high as a bastard on meth and managed to make it out of the killzone. The NPC was not so lucky:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The loot consisted of a utility vest, a fanny pack and a CBM: Active Defense, which I managed to meth install. And it's still only day1!

Anyway, all this has made me wish that someone would add a dialog check for mininukes in NPC inventory and add an additional dialog for confrontations along the lines of:

Char: Why should I put down my weapon?

NPC: Because I'm holding a Thermal Detonator!

or maybe Valve goes out of business because they invested too heavily in something which then fails - like, say, human civilization.
Alternatively, initiate strife to refuse additional baked goods, and then abscond.

Ho, damn :) Nice I didn't know that. I'll probably make a fortifying guide or something and add it to the wiki.

Also lol wayward-- one of the very first items I managed to blag off an NPC was a mininuke.

AAGH

Why did I think the key to commit suicide was the same one as the save!? I'm getting tired of savescumming back to day one, goddammit...

Swamp spawns are insane. Going 70 MPH in a beetle down a highway past a swamp, enough spawns to kill me in a moving vehicle.

Do they deplete like zombies? Zombies are really easy to depopulate now, with the max population in lower and spawns being batshit insane. Makes the only reliable possible way to depopulate a town driving in circles in a truck every few days. Only dangerous things are the shock zombies, else you could do it in one day.

Yup just savescummed. Killed me from full torso health going 70 MPH past a swamp again. Fuck it. I'm going to hold off for a few more updates. Liking the new content so far though.

Nothing has been changed about swamps in several versions, I don't think. They have been the deadliest place on the map since Whale's made the game, and no one has really changed them.

Never asked if they had changed. I've always avoided them. This particular one was unavoidable if I wanted to get my beetle elsewhere, and I had no windshields. Highway right down the middle of a dozen or so tiles of swamp. Holy shit, look at that, there's enough of them to rip the torso to shreds at 70 MPH. Really surprised me, given I've blown past them in cars, trucks etc before taking no damage.

My best character I've ever had just died to my stupidity. I went into a science lab and got ripped to shreds by manhacks. I was doing so well, too.

I have another video up now. Not that exciting but I do manage to derp around in some houses and glaring enviously at everything on the ground that my lack of carrying ability says I can't pick up. Video is here

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

Yeah, carrying capacity is kinda sad. Hoodies, cargo pants and a trenchcoat are my life, because god knows when you'll find a decent backpack/military rucksack/fanny pack/purse/messenger bag and there's never a clothing store with what you need on the outskirts of a town. I think evac shelters should spawn with a guaranteed backpack at least.

Also is it me or is there a dire lack of underwear in the game? we need spats, panties, more thermals etc.

Dissasembled my first lawnmower today-- made a machete and a halberd-- and lo and behold, there's an engine in it?
that's awesome. I wonder what I can make with that. >.>

anyway, genning a new world today and going through. I'll try to survive, so I'll let y'all know.
