Redirected to DDA by DrPoo: I'm compiling on a mac, and it used to work just fine. Can anyone tell me what I need to change to get this to compile properly?

g++    -O3 -m32 -c item.cpp -o obj/item.o
item.cpp: In member function ‘std::string item::info(bool)’:
item.cpp:282: error: ‘struct it_comest’ has no member named ‘health’
make: *** [obj/item.o] Error 1

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Huh, could have sworn I merged a fix for that before. Looking for the thread on the forum that has the fixes.

Ah, there's the problem.

TRying to load the DDA thread hangs forever in my browser. Weird.

Now we REALLY need a third dimension... so corpses can pile and we can literally make a mountain of them.

Welcome to Mt. Slaughter ~ We hope you have a nice day, and a bloody, bloody apocalypse.

No... no... you are on something.

I think what this game DOES in fact need... is another dimension.

Like Ryleh or the Plateau of Leng.

Yes, a portal to Xen where the mutant goop comes from.

I'd dig up the link to the precompiled Mac version, but I'm currently in college :P

This was planned for quite some time, you can find the portal generators in labs and cause Resonance Cascades and whatnot already.

Aha! But why do you think Royal Jelly is so good at healing these otherworldly diseases!

Because the game works by Fallout logic where substances that give you radiation resistance heals radiation poisoning (except when it doesn't)

Which Royal Jelly does.

Well ok no.

Ok fine, I will think of my most crazy suggestion I can think of...

Here we go. Whenever you move a bed for the first time there is a chance there is a monster under it.

I'd actually consider adding that as an easter egg.

I've found a portal that I assumed was to another dimension just hanging out on the middle of the street before. Some weird ass alien bush was growing out of it and dropping tons of berries. Pretty nice score, since as far as I could tell the berries were safe to eat and fairly filling. I never did try to go though the portal though.

Also I don't think ether Ryleh or Leng are other dimensions. Although Leng is in another dimension... Or not I guess, depending on your definition of "another dimension"

True

Ryleh is at the bottom of the ocean and Leng is... hmmm... Apperantly it exists in all dimensions but the Earthly location of it is Antarctica.
