Yeah I will admit that this game does Tileset pretty well since you won't bump into most of the enemies in the game most of the time and the game often just tells you. As well it will outright tell you what an enemy is the first time they pop into view. It could be considered one of the games that does ASCII right.

The only exception is that there are two zombie types that share a symbol.

Although the tilesets ARE pretty dang good looking. I hope someone ports them over to the current version at some point.

Do you mean Zombies and Grabber Zombies? Because they're actually slightly different colors.

Lots of bugfixes being worked on at the moment, still going to be a lot of bugs outstanding, but a slightly smaller lot.

Also, official stance on NPCs, they're broken, they will break your game in horrible horrible ways.

Honestly I didn't know they were... I just figured, since their dialog is around the worst I ever seen and it made me think this game was made by an angsty teen, that they were intentionaly psychopathic backstabbers.

Ok I should probably stay away from commenting on the dialog as I THINK Darkling wolf could be the creator...

Wasn't there an option at one point to turn off NPCs?  Am I just not finding it?  Can it be brought back?

Also suggestion:  Make butcher knives usable to craft steel spears?

Just use the kill npcs thingy in the debug menu.

I think you just place a text file named "no_npc.txt" in your cataclysm directory and the game only places the starting NPC.

Thanks.  I'll try that with my next game.

Have I encountered a bug?  I'm getting encumberance of 4 on my arms, while only wearing hard arm guards and a trenchcoat.  I've worn these things together before, and never had this problem.

Is your volume thing over your max somehow? And in what order did you put those two articles of clothing on?

Actually, I tried taking off both items and putting on the arm guards first, and those alone raise my arm encumberance to 4.  Kinda weird.  I guess I'll just leave them.

Hmm I'm not sure if my character is just being retarded, spears are THAT hard to figure out, or if it's a bug, but there seems to be something wrong with the way my character uses them. When I attack with the spear it always tells me it gets stuck and i yank it free followed by me smacking the monster with it. I'm currently sitting at 1.15 bashing weapons and 0.20 piercing weapon despite the steel spear I am wielding saying it deals 2 bashing damage and 28 piercing.

You'd think the guy would use the pointy end more.

Seemingly cannot load the save, in any case I can't reproduce the bug on my end. What version are you using?
