I used the pneumatic rifle and didn't notice anything over powering about it. It's weak compared to anything but .22 ratshot. it was taking three or four single shots at fairly close range to kill normal zombies, while a burst would generally kill one, that's about it. Definitely doesn't replace proper firearms.

Hmm I dunno, maybe it performs worse then it's stats indicate. Tbh I have been noticing firearms not performing well at range for many of them. I actually debug menu to set like all skills to 40 and was still having trouble hitting targets with that new pistol thingy with the number name R9888? The targets were only 10 squares away and the skill bonus should have been through the roof for accuracy, going up close it did like 300 damage headshot but even at 5 squares away it was doing near misses.

Maybe it's firearms in general, maybe it's new modded in firearms/ammo might have some bug, maybe im just really unlucky.

Do keep in mind that in recent versions, perception is reversed - it gives a penalty when low, but normal when high.  Having low perception may incur a hard penalty that skills cannot overcome.

It's been pretty much my experience that anything more than 6 or so spaces away is almost impossible to hit. I suspect it's the dispersion, regardless of your skill if the ammo doesn't go through the space you can't hit the target. Maybe dispersion is too high, or should be tied to weapon/firearm skill with a lower bound instead of set so high by default.

Edit: Managed to get into the lab. Holy crap those things are cold. Actually caught frostbite my first time down. Wow.

Got a bunch of nice mutations - night vision, deft, dexterous, fleet-footed. Unfortunately I had to eat a few limbs, so now I'm all depressed. Dunno why... I can freaking see in the dark! I'm pretty sure the body parts I ate were never alive anyways, who cares if it was shaped like an arm.
