Also reasonable. But right now the game is an odd mix of 'real' time and compressed time in different areas. I'd like that to at least make sense or be controllable.

On a random note: I want to use one of these as my mobile base. Well, a manned version anyway. Don't know that I'd trust a robotic base. But, still, that thing would not care about bushes AT ALL.
If we're talking about ideal mobile bases just give me a Mark XXXI Bolo.

I was going for stuff that actually exists and could theoretically be found somewhere after the apocalypse. But that'd be cool, too.

Or moose, the real harbringers of the apocalypse.
Have you ever seen an angry moose in real life? The way they are described in cataclysm isn't that different from reality. :P

Yes, moose are known to be evil.

FUCKING MOOSE. My mansion-dwelling char's life has finally come to an end, and by now you can guess it was caused by a certain antlered land-carp of an animal.

I was chased by a moose once as a small child. Fortunately it decided that I wasn't really a threat after I fell down, since it could have easily killed me if it wanted to. I was 5, though, so not exactly a challenge for a creature that outweighed me many times over.

I accidentally deleted my character. Apparently you can't have two saves simultaneously. Might be nice to put a warning up if you decide to start a new game while there's an existing savegame.

You can have multiple saves just fine. Do make sure that you are actually saving/quitting (not suiciding) and make sure that you aren't resetting the world between the two.

Is there a way to dismantle traps?

How good a weapon is a wood axe anyway? I found it in the middle of all those traps along with a few saws and a  bunch of wood.

Note to self, don't try to disarm shotgun traps.

I found the wood axe to be sub-par. It kills zombies pretty well, but it is pretty slow and you're likely to get whalloped a bit in between swings. I had better luck with a crowbar.

Okay. What about a pointy stick versus a crowbar?

I don't know how a crowbar compares to other early game weapons but I always use one because of its utility. The fact that you can make one no matter what at the start is a nice bonus to boot.
