Rural Zealand in Denmark has quite of their myths, mainly about elfs, nisser(kinda like magical dwarfs, think the origin of kobolds) and various swamp people and your usual wisp and ghost thing.
Every castle here in Denmark has their own ghost, too. I know because i have given them all the finger.

Supposedly lizard man hangs around in the woods about half an hour from here.

Half of the buildings in my home town are also apparently haunted, and in particular the schools.  I never saw anything strange, but you know how kids can be.

Here's a link to the New World of Darkness thread for those interested. http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=120032.msg3887520#new. I've discovered that the roll-right stones are actually bewitched knights, whispering of the future to maidens  ;), and bringing luck on the battlefield to those who take a piece of the king stone. The king's men bring ill fortune if touched, however. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollright_Stones#Folklore

Up on Mount Rose there is wolf that lives in this shack that you can see from the ski lift and goes around at night killing people who stay up there to late. Also my friend apparently had an encounter with a creature in a tunnel. Said things and the pipe tapped 2 for yes and 1 for no. Then they went into the tunnel and figure with a white face attacked them. It knocked out a girl and shocked another one. Or so my friend says.

We've got this haunted leaf that flies about every now and then in the village. There's also this ghostly woman named Beatrice who invades the homes of the drunk and has conversations with you, but maybe she's a whisky phantom.

Apparently the Orange Juice Man myth started in my hometown. I'm not 100% sure as nobody other than my dad has ever claimed this.

In my country, we still believe in the quaint ideals of "freedom" and "democracy."

There is this myth going around that Canberra is, in fact, the capital of Australia.
Having lived in Sydney for a while, I find this very hard to fathom.

There's a myth about Castle Hill in Huddersfield, nearby Netherton was being attacked by Satan, and he got chased out and so in a single jump landed on the tower and went into hiding in the catacombs that are supposedly there.

We don't actually have that much in my exact area, but there is a lot on the Indian reservations near us (Arizona is about 1/4th indian land; about 38% of all the total reservation land in the U.S.) so up on the different Rez's you have a lot of that older native mythology (skinwalkers, and all other sorts of native goodies).

When the homeless die in the streets:
  • There is someone whose job it is to clear the body before anyone sees it.
  • There is someone whose job it is to make sure the homeless person is dead.
  • It does not always happen in that order.

o_o Wouldn't these jobs be taken by the same person, e.g a paramedic or sth?

Who knows? Just every now and then the local homeless guy by the bridge disappears and is never seen again.
