Seems quite unwieldy. Also, we don't know the weather. It could well be dry, in which case an umbrella would look sort of weird.

Misfire is also a problem. Although it is also with the derringer.

The design looks quite simply and it operates on a CO2, so the chance of it failing would be slim. If not we could use a same concept with a cane and walk with a limp.

And if we're detained and searched? What then?

Again, a syrenge is too obvious. Tampering with his food, using a particularly long onset toxin, may be a good idea.

Better idea. Cover the inside of his headphones with hydrofluoric acid.

"Burns with areas larger than 25 square inches (160 cm2) have the potential to cause serious systemic toxicity from interference with blood and tissue calcium levels"

"Because of the ability of hydrofluoric acid to penetrate tissue, poisoning can occur readily through exposure of skin or eyes, or when inhaled or swallowed. Symptoms of exposure to hydrofluoric acid may not be immediately evident. HF interferes with nerve function, meaning that burns may not initially be painful. Accidental exposures can go unnoticed, delaying treatment and increasing the extent and seriousness of the injury.[8]"

As an added bonus, non reactive to most plastics, so we could just apply it with an appropriate applicator.

Or we could just give him a food he's allergic to. Possibly fatally.

Assuming he is allergic to anything. Do we know anything about our target? Habits?

If he's diabetic, 'insulin' injections might be viable.

How about we not depend on methods that require him to have rare medical conditions or deadly allergies.

If we know anything about target, go with something that seems innocuous but is lethal to them. If they don't have allergies or however, just take cash. LordBucket is right in that we can get stuff once we arrive.

This. We can say all the "if's" we like, but he -must- die. There can be no chance of survival. We can't rely on an "if".

So. All the information we can get on our target. DM? please.

Wait, do we know if he's diabetic or not? If he is, then we could change out the insulin for a lethal morphine dose, or nicotine sulfate.

As a diabetic, I approve of this plan of action

What tools would we need, apart from a syringe and possibly whatever we can find?
Not enough information yet, but poison is probably a good option. Syringe serves no purpose other than to leave an identifiable mark. Our target will be at a party. Should be easy to slip something into a drink.
Depends on the poison. Fugul yes; cyanide, yes; blue-ringed octopus venom, no.

How about we not depend on methods that require him to have rare medical conditions or deadly allergies.
How about we talk about them in case he or a future target does.
It could make our lives MUCH easier. Pose as a new waiter who forgot Mr. Johnson was allergic to peanuts...

I like the "slip something in his drink" plan.

Assume a false identity and hire a private investigator to watch the target for a week.

In that case, arrive with nondescript clothing and $50,000.
