I absolutely loved this game.  I'd say it might even be the best I played this year.  A lot of game devs need to be locked into a room and study this thing to death for how to do branching dialogue in a believable manner.  The game had fantastic voice-acting and writing, and some of the characters just crawl under your skin.  I think TTG deserves a lot of kudos as well, because I don't think the game would have been half as impactful without the excellent model animation, particularly the faces.  Well, ok, I kept looking at Omid and wishing the pop-eyed SOB would blink once in awhile, but that's just nitpicking.   ;D

To those who say your choices didn't matter, because it didn't change the game...

First of all, on first playthrough, I had no idea what decisions of mine "really" changed the story.  I knew just from a project scope level that they couldn't possibly produce a whole lot in the way of branching storylines, but it wasn't until I started a second playthrough that I began to see all the way behind the curtain to see the "rails".  As far as I am concerned, they maintained an illusion of choice extremely well all the way throughout.

Second, this game wasn't about decisions affecting the story.  Its about how those decisions, made under pressure with no real right or wrong answer, affected you.  I've never played a more intense game in that regards.

The only thing that really annoyed me in the game is the voice acting actually.

Like when Mark was shot with the arrow, and Lilly rushes over, and says, "Are you okay?" In a completely idiotic way. The rest of it was generally fine, though. Kenny and Clementine had AMAZING voice acting, but Omid annoyed me slightly.

Telltale confirmed Season 2 when Episode 5 was released.

Hmm... they did?

No they didn't. It's just a bunch of predictions from IGN. Even though what they say does make sense, why would they have the "Clementine will remember what you said" messages pop up in the first when you pass the torch, so to speak, and give your final advice?

Maybe. I don't know.

Usually I bash games in the Other Games forum. Not this time.

This game is fantastic, and this has been a good year for games.

Easily one of the best adventure games I've played in a while. For anyone considering playing it- you need to buy all episodes at once because once you start, it's very hard to put it down.

Wow, I almost asked the same question twice.

I am surprised how on the fense Telltale has me. On the one hand they can tell a good story, on the other I don't really like the bite sized adventure games.

I'd say a 10 hour game with an emotionally rending and memorable story is categorically better than a 30 hour game with a boring story.

I didn't really like Molly all that much. The whole "ninja ice-pick" thing was rather over done, jarringly unrealistic and out of place. The whole "twist" of her background story was predictable and shallow. The fact that she refused to join you even though she expressed concerns for Clem and stated that the town had been completely picked dry of resources seemed like a small plot hole.

For the protagonist of season two I would like to see a whole new character with a whole new group of survivors. I don't think I'd want to see even cameos of the old characters, especially Lee or Clem. As good as the story was in the first season it's over and the focus should shift onto completely different situations. It could for example be focused more on a much bigger group of survivors with the protagonist having to make tough discussions that affect the group and the relationship between leader and follower.

It isn't the length honestly it is the episodic nature of it. Where by the time I finally get into the game, It is time for the next one.

Making it the equivilant of that long boring game simply by virtue of never having a stable climax. Often with each episode not doing much to top the last.

It is why I had to ask how this game was in terms of that. Is it still "Next episode, you better calm down?"

So I guess it would just be the whole incomplete nature of it all and the fact that because these are split up into "Episodes" each episode has to stand on its own making the experience as a whole weakened and disjointed when it isn't working as it should.

Then wait to buy it as a whole and play it as a whole, at $25 hell $15 or less if you wait that long, it was more than a meal here in total.
