Sunlight cannot break the bonds between the oxygen and the hydrogen in water. Basic physics.
If you had bothered to read the post, you would have seen that it doesn't do that. What happens is that under influence of sunlight, 2 copies of water turn into 1 copy of oxygenated water and one copy of hydrogen gas. After that, the oxygenated water falls apart, into oxygen and hydrogen. This is a natural process that happens all the time. Hence why allmost all organisms have a minor resistance to
oxygenated water.

Besides, this is chemistry we're talking about.

Edit: But yeah, this is a very slow and not at all economically viable process.

also, since that process consume energy, the reverse produce energy (basics). Therefore, it happens quite easily, given a slight impulse (you dont want to flick a lighter in a room where atmosphere is 50% H2 / 50% O2)

The main point of this is I'm not changing up their internals much, they're still simple-ish. Most of their mass is now devoted to eating to keep them simple, with perhaps a lung system in the greater wall of the thing if that's desperately needed.

I dub it, the Foracome. The Foracomi is plural. Now judge away!

This will be interesting.  Finally gives me a reason to post something I have been meaning to:

>Adapt the Yisfjlelh to have the outermost cells change into a metal or calcite-based shell (does not occur along flaps or stomach interior, exterior gets the shell-transformation treatment).
>Adapt virovores that are working with the Yisfjlelh to be able to digest parasites.

And looks like my more recent posts were missed...

Sorry about that. I read them, don't worry, I just skip over the less relevant posts that don't affect anything in here. Seems like I missed those... Sorry. I'll respond to them all here:
Sunlight does not produce enough heat for electrolysis. Period. Right now, the only available source of oxygen, is photosyntheis! If you want more oxygen, I suggest you support it! Good luck.

Holy clusterfuck of alduin's great balls of fire. We barely reached the jellyfishes/sponges part and the TREE OF LIFE already look like a small forest.

Yeah, probably should correct that... I expect it to get gi-freaking-normous in the future. Oh man.

Well, if we divide these groups of cells into the individual kinds of cells, we have a even greater cluster fuck.

I'm also quite proud of my meteor cells.

Oh man, nothing better than even more clusterfuck! No, I'm just joking. I won't do that. Ever. The last thing I need is even more clusterfuck. Oh wait...

Mobile Sponges == Poripinnans
One less thing to clutter things up.

Anyways...

Azeroth does several things.
The tide pool poripinnans undergo rapid evolution in this strange new environment, and small population. They become symbiotic with the photosynthetic prokaryotes, exchanging various vital nutrients for glucose. They also develop a waxy coating and proto-muscular tissue to close their pores in times of drought, at which point they also go into hibernation. Some of the larger ones lose their motility, instead digging into the soil and sticking branches around. Some poke out of the water, although this is more by accident than design. The smaller ones retain motility, and either feed on each other or the larger ones, developing sharp "claws" controlled by the same kind of proto-muscles that seal their pores during droughts. They diverge into two new groups: The motile predators are the Protovenators, while the immobile ones focusing more on photosynthesis are the Viridipetrans.
Some rhinasusans begin to increase in size further, up to almost 5 meters across. By this point, their tissues have increased in complexity somewhat, almost to the point of having dedicated organs! They also have a primitive circulatory system in the form of a secondary set of canals which connect to a central pumping chamber, as well as a chamber specializing in digesting larger food particles. The proto-circulatory system is connected to the original canals in a few places, but the digestive chamber is only connected by an excretory hole for waste, having a larger orifice which pumps in these larger particles. This new group, much different from the ancestral rhinasusans, is the Neocolonians.
Some of the parasitic poripinnans develop "spikes" that let them rip into the body of larger beings, extending the range of what they can feed on.
Some of the poisonous eukaryotes develop into colonies.
Some communicating cell colonies increase in size and develop "tentacles" so they can latch onto certain porripinnans, eating any parasites they come across.
Finally, Azeroth contemplates throwing an asteroid into Genesis to see what would happen, before just shifting the orbit of a gas giant further put into the system, causing some bodies in its Langrage (sp?) points to become destabilized, causing a chain reaction which ends in a large cloud of partial comets and meteors orbiting the stars around Genesis's orbit, leading to frequent small collisions. This was less impressive than Azeroth hoped, but it would at least spread some rarer elements into the crust and add a little more water to the world.

Thanks for the clarification on that! Alright. To your actions:
The sponges stranded far inland had a... well, sot of a choice: ADAPT OR DIE. The great majority has choosen the latter. But some adapted! The cyanobacteria had it much easier surviving in the salt lakes far inland. But with symbiosis, everything is easier! Some do as you described, they hibernate when their tide pools dry out, dig themselves in and stick... BRANCHES? What? Alright, let's ignore that... They diverge and develop several new adaptations. The Rhinausans also grow and develop a primitive circular system and proto-organs. You also help developing other species and create a new kind of cell colonies. And after Zanzetkuken's little plot on creating the platinum isle we have enough of the rare elements in the crust... But if you want more, alright, I'll oblige.

>Increase size of the Yisfjlelh.
>Develop the primitive organs further.
>Affect the movement of the comet to the planet in such a way that it mostly evaporates before striking the planet, or it becomes a new moon of the planet.
>Promote further symbiosis between Virovores and the Yisfjlelh species.

The organs develop further and the virovores do some labor for the... I'm not gonna try to spell it again. I'm sorry, but I'm not in the mood. And you create a new moon for the planet, nice! And now for the name...

Pleased that the parasitical were making a mark on this world, Illemine looks at the symbiotes. Mutalism, commensalism, it made her sick. Time to bring on the strength she thought. The Yisflejlel, or whatever. They look awfully, soft. Weak. With all their precious hard-earned nutrients flaoting around unguarded. Shw would fix that.
Under her gaze, a few of the quickly evolving and compicating creatures, begin to hunt the numerous Ysflejlel istead of fighting for thinning resources. Far simpler then the complex creatures, they only require a single hard edge as a weapon, and a method of breaking down and retrieving the nutrients. They are smaller then they are, but as the Ysflejlel have never been forced to avoid hunters, they manage.

Body: Just a slightly more complex sponge really. Off of Zanzetuken's design in terms of air, they are simply a Spongy creature with slightly harder edges and a large internal chamber for digestion. Hunting is accomplished by three simple sharp "teeth" formed by secretion of a similar-to-keratin compound. They ram into the prey, teeth first, and wait as the feeble creatures die. Then they slowly consume it through a hole in the middle.

Interesting... Added to the clusterfuck.

In case it gets missed, my earlier turn.

Sorry, bro, I was in a hurry the last time! This time I'm gonna count in every relevant post. Don't worry! Wait... I already added the communicating cell clusters to the TREE(s) OF LIFE!

While I can see what your plan is, it comes several turns to late. We already got surface life and multicellular lifes. We're on our way to fullblown photosythetic and oxygen life.

I Dont see what you're talking about... I'll just explain. Sunlight hits the icesheet, breaking the H2O dwon into H2O2. This then decomposes into more H2O and... Drum roll please... O2!!!
BULLSHIT. The heat required to break water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules is the surface temperature of the sun. SCIENCE DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY.
thought so. we wouldn't be spending large sums of money in designing complex mechanisms to break down water in hydrogen and oxygen (for fuel) if mere sunlight could do that.
Actually, this thing is correct. H2O2 will naturally form from water under using normal sunlight, and will then break down into water and oxygen. I just don't see why it would need ice. (If anything this would slow the reaction).

Also, I don't think we're spending giant sums to create hydrogen and oxygen from water. Making it happen is as easy as plugging the water into the grid. (Electrolysis is pretty efficient)

Besides the oxygen level will soon cause a mass starvation. Or maybe it won't because someone decided magicking resistance to oxygen was a good idea.

I told you already, everything that is anaerobic and isn't trapped in an anaerobic environment has already died or adapted. The oxygen insn't a problem anymore.

A race of arms! Nice! The virovores develop into a kind of immunity/defence system, only that it also works on the large scale. Anything that comes close gets partially digested by the virovores. By that I mean a few acid-like burns maybe. They also develop a shell-thing.

Welll....

The colonies does thrive and start to specialize even more!

1 : Move cells = They're the "motors" of the colonies, having many flagellas.
2 : Link cells = These cells are tunnels and connections to all cells.
3 : Breeder cells = These cells are the only cells in the colony capable of mitosis. They produce link cells and move cells, as well daughter blobs, which mature inside the mother colony. They make a second "layer" of cells, so the effects of the border cells are maximized.
4 : Eye cells = Photosensitive, they can detect light. They send the information to other cell types, make them act differently. Too much sunlight, the colony swims away to hinder starvation. Too dark, they swim towards the sunlight to feed on it more effectivly.
5 : "Green" cells = Full of chloroplasts! Make sugar and transform it into starch.
6 : Storage cells = Are part of the second layer too. They store the starch and digest it for the other cells.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Just how the first layer looks like.
green = green cells (duh)
Black = Move cells
brown = Eye cells

I know, what I am posting will be a large step, but will begin an interesting situation.

Actions
>Increase size of the Yisfjlelh to a 2-3 cm radius (I am guessing that they are a few dozen millimeters by now, but I would like to be corrected if this assumption is false.)
>Develop the primitive organs further. (I'd like a readout of what stage this is at.)
>Have the Yisfjlelh develop a proto-brain. (I'd consider that this would be far enough to start a new species.  Name: Drinlor)
>Have the Drinlors able to survive outside of water by increasing the gases in their air cavities to float, have the circulatory system become a closed system, having the mouth able to close with enough strength that water inside does not fall out, and have it develop the behavior to dive into the water to collect more nutrient filled water to replace it's used water.
>Have the Drinlors develop an organ that Virovores can enter when the nutrient-deprived water is going to be dumped.

Axeroth gets to work again...

The communicating cell colonies begin to enlarge and specialize. Some develop tentacles on their outer surfaces. They drift about, snagging food with their tentacles a la cnidarians. They are Capillusalcyoneumites, probably the longest name given so far.
Viridipetrans develop leaflike appendages and the ability to survive better with parts of its body out of water. They grow partly out of water at times.
Some provenators are swept out of the tide pools into the open ocean and promptly evolve to prey upon the local creatures, including a modification of some of its claws into finlike appendages. I'll let the GM name these.
Finally, some poisonous cell colonies begin to develop actual structure, becoming elongated creatures with two layers of cells. The inner layer is specialized in feeding and reproduction, while the outer layer specializes in locomotion and defense. They are the Vedmiculums, and their half-millimeter forms wriggle through the sea, filtering out smaller plankton and such. The poisonous organelles within are used for defense.

As the Foracome eat the Ysfejlelh, there are changes ecosystem, They begin to get larger, to compensate for their prey's increase in size, and also begin to hunt they specialized cell colonies to increase time between meals.

I suppose we have to state any new creature's diet and/or predators when we make them.  Having self-imposed predation on our little bastards creations would be cool.

They shouldn't be, but it's still important. Theres a whole balance to it. Like in real life. The Predators outnumber the prey for a while, the obvious occurs, then as the predators numbers die down the prey jump back up. It's a cycle. My bit is that it's difficult to attack a creature covered in a shell and much larger then you, even if you ram them. I'm not mking them as large, just, maybe increasing a little to compensate.

A food chain wil get oowerful complex fast. It'll be worse then the tree of life will be, due to overlapping diets. Therefore I approve of this plan.
