Lemon progress has been erratic and questionable.
Lapse:
Right off the bat on unpause the hunter I mentioned in the previous report was killed by the radscorpions, there was no saving him and he refused to cancel his hunting job, who gives a fuck.
While out recovering the equipment he wasted and his corpse an irradiated storm spawned just by that one edge he died by, engulfing two ponies and one cat.
The cat was severely blistered but both ponies seemed to be well.
More wood and scavenge was obtained, large areas were designated for chopping and our many scavengers and idlers set about getting it all downstairs without any serious issues.
Mining jobs finished, and ore and bar stockpiles were set up, as the ponies began to haul much of the limonite and scrap metal we had using the three wheelbarrows assigned we built three smelters, one metalsmiths forge and a klin.
It turns out that the coal box was just a bunch of baloney, or it was lost somewhere, because we found ourselves with no fuel whatsoever, no coal.
So we had 20 units of charcoal produced from our wood supply.
While that happened we designated all the steel chests for smelting, which our smiths are ignoring completely.
So the metal industry has been set up, now we just need our smiths to do their job and our scavengers to supply them with fuel.
Outside the sprite-bot, Bean Flax, is crippled by a black radscorpion.
He loses both his wings and his laser pistol, so now we have a rolling ball of polka moving around somehow.
One of the ponies who was caught in the first irradiated storm worsened all of a sudden.
Maw Waspnose, a butcher, found himself in the hospital with blistered and rotting tissue.
A black radscorpion attacks out stockade, with no way to really avoid it and with good progress having been made I took a risk and sent our 7 to take it down, in the ensuring fight the scorpion kills a bighorner we had pastured but is taken down by Indigo Surprise and her steel combat knife who tore through it's carpace like butter.
An unicorn baby girl is born, she is destined to become a riflepony.
The wasteland's wildlife goes nuts and invades Lemon, we go out to dispatch several black radscorpions, the two we attack are slain by Maklak's chainsaw and Crazy Cow's sexy rear legs.
Never piss off a mare, their strong kicks will punch through your armor.
Before doing anything else jobs for prepared food and nest boxes are made, the chicken coops are poorly set up and need more nest boxes, and we are running low on prepared food to trade away.
Radroaches show up, and we clear them all out, while clearing the roaches Crazy Cow returns to pick up her steel drill and assists in chasing down the last one.
While on the way back a giant radscorpion shows up, blocking the way home, we swarm it and Crazy Cow drills the hulking spidery creature in the brain, killing it instantly, nopony was wounded.
A trade caravan from our home civ arrives, and soon thereafter 3 new black radscoprions.
Our squad assists in taking the black radscorpions down and suffer no losses while the traders set up in the depot.
We bring our remaining prepared food and our weapon bin to trade.
Another giant radscorpion appears and once more we go out to kill it, Indigo rushes ahead and suffers for it, she is severely wounded and takes nerve damage to about the same degree of Replica, P(ony)SI kills the giant radscorpion and Indigo is taken to the hospital to rest with the rotting Maw Waspnose.
The doctors arrive and begin to perform surgery on Maw Waspnose, whose condition has worsened considerably.
Indigo is also diagnosed.
A large squad of thieves and snatchers reveal themselves by the entrance, but they are scared off and scurry away to the map edge.
We trade with the caravan.
We give them a single steel barbed wire worth 6k and *nothing else*, in exchange for all their food, drink and a large amount of cloth, leather and a couple of bags of gunpowder.
We don't need weapons or armor as we have plenty of those around and enough materials to build new ones.
The traders leave happy and everything is hauled underground.
Lycaeon and the liason decide that it is a good idea to remain on the surface to conduct their meeting, an irradiated storm whirs across the map and Lycaeon narrowly avoids it by a single tile, another storm appears immediately afterwards, spawning just short of 10 tiles north of the stockade and once again he avoids it by one tile, the liason and his caravan aren't so lucky however and they all suffer from radiation poisoning, it doesn't take long before they hurl all over our bloodied inner pasture and the depot.
Lycaeon is too lazy to finish the agreements and goes elsewhere to do whatever, the violently sick liason follows after him.
Our hefty amount of salvage is processed, but none of the crates are opened yet.
A snatcher reveals itself, it is irradiated and is hurling all over, it cripples a very aggressive stray sprite-bot in an attempt to escape, but the sprite-bot is persistant and despite the loss of it's laser pistol follows after the snatcher who is too weak to fight back, the sprite-bot pushes the snatcher to death and is now known as "Murder, Stray Sprite-Bot".
Another snatcher in similar condition is uncovered, Maklak, who is closest, drops his hacksaw and crosses the distance immediately, but with no steel hacksaw to bear he is forced to use his bare hooves to deal with it.
Except he has a better idea, and gores the snatcher in the head using his horn (remember what we talked about yesterday? I told you I'd need armor to "play" with Crazy Cow), killing it instantly.
Like nothing and with bits of brain and blood stuck to his horn he returns to scavenging.
Maw Waspnose begins to rot considerably, filling the hospital with sickening miasma while Indigo is still laying there.
The medical staff is organized further and almost immediately the doctors rush to the room to diagnose, perform surgery and clean everything up, Maw is stabilized and Indigo is given further treatment.
Yet another straggler shows up, except this time we are all busy downstairs, P(ony)SI is the quickest to respond to the call of arms adn she rushes out in full speed wielding her copper baton.
She bashes the snatcher a single time in the head, jamming the skull through the brain and leaving a broken mess of vomit, brain matter and an ill smelling dirty raider corpse not far from our walls.
She merrily returns to butchering a rooster and peform surgery, she doesn't even wash her hooves or anything.
Four foals are born, but none of them are ours (I am beginning to think that Crazy Cow might be sterile, or maybe she is forcing me to use rubbers), three unicorn girls and one earth pony boy.
The earth pony is destined to become a fisherpony, the unicorns will be medical pony, clothesmaker and army recruit respectively.
Indigo recovers from the worst of her injuries and leaves the hospital to peform combat training with a crutch.
But she is really still banged up, I think she left because of the horrible smell of rot laying just a bed away from her.
We also appear to be missing some medical supplies, a large quantity of morphine appears to have just magically stood up and walked away from the secured hospital medical footlocker. Indigo denies involvement.
Maw's recovery is not going well though, he might be turning into a ghoul.
The doctors continue to peform large amounts of painful surgery, the very walls are splattered with his blood, everything on him has to be removed, because everything is rotten.
There is page upon page of removal of rotted tissue from his right cheek, but it is only replaced by more rot.
Right now we are just waiting for him to die, very slowly, and very painfully, while our amateur surgeons train their skills on his rotting body.
A Stable-Tec Terminal was built.
It has many interesting training programs, but we lack many of the hologems needed for the programs we'd like to run.
It doesn't appear as if we can transfer SATS at the moment despite having both a charged spark battery and a pip-buck.
Presumably this is because of how far away from the stockpiles it is, next time we'll move it to the hospital (in preparation for nurse redheart bots).
Speaking of training programs, the armor user at the armory seems to be progressing at an abysmal rate.
This is tied to two things, 1 Lycaeon is often busy elsewhere, 2 we only have one set of steel combat armor available right now, and every time it is brought to the workshop it gets hauled away, and can not be used until stored, forcing me to add another train armor user skill labor with every training session.
The marksponyship training at the VR is going better however, while the skill gains are rather pathethic I have noticed minor increases of the Archery skill of my rifleponies (and 0 increases in other ranged skills).
So I am guessing that the "Train marksponyship" reaction = Train Archery, "Train gunnery" = Train Markspony and "Train Sniping" = Train Bowpony (for AMR's).
Not entirely sure what heavy gunner might be, but I assume that some "heavy" handheld weapon uses the blowgunner skill.
All in all the training reactions are nice and work so far, all I need to do is just increase the effectiveness so that they train more often and have easier access to the required reagents.
Lycaeon must still deal with the liason, who has refused to leave him alone, he has been following him everywhere, from the mess hall, to the barracks, to patrol duties and even to his room where he watches Lycaeon sleep. The creepiest thing of them all though was that he followed Lycaeon to the well where he watched him clean himself from top to bottom.
To try and convince Lycaeon to actually talk to this very persistent liason we built a table and a chair in his room and designated it as his office (to compensate for the lowered room value we are also going to smooth and engrave the room, and while we are at that we might as well smooth and engrave Crazy Cow's room too and call it a gift from Replica).
This cost us our last available chair however.
Lastly, several beds, tables and doors were placed around the stable.
Beds are for the bedrooms and the tables are for our new and shiny meeting hall which we are still working on.
We are suffering from a shortage of furniture however, and are completely out of stone (as amazing as that sounds), so we need to dig out more areas for materials to use.
Because of this we were unable to build the bar and to produce more drinks, because we are simply all out of barrels, bins, chairs and tables despite serious job orders being placed since the manager was appointed.
Kills and Score:
This session had considerably more action than the previous sessions, there have been minor changes in kills and skills.
For this session I will treat you with some candy, here are your kills.
Lycaeon is still slacking behind, but with his new spear and with all his important bits intact he is sure to surpass the second-to-last Replica and Crazy Cow in kills.
Indigo is expected to lag behind considerably due to her new wounds, she had a good competitive run, but she wont have a chance against P(ony)SI's bloodlust while she figures out how to walk with a crutch without toppling over like an ass.
P(ony)SI is likely to take the lead, followed by Maklak and Lycaeon surpassing a very underpeforming Khenal and Crazy Cow. Replica is also unlikely be able to keep up, despite having reached legendary status in crutch walking (and is now almost as fast as Maklak and Khenal (but this is okay, because my mining weapon skills are better used in the bedroom where I use my "drill" to "mine" a certain somepony).
These are your current combat skills, copied from DFtherapist.
Maklak is tied with P(ony)SI with highest weapon skill, being level 6 in axing and level 6 in bashing things respectively.
They are followed shortly by Khenal, Crazy Cow and Replica who are all level 3 in their skills.
Indigo has gained another level in kicking, bringing her up to level 10. Lycaeon is almost at level 1 with spears.
Replica and Crazy Cow have foregone their weapons in favor of their more managable steel mining drills, at which they are both well over legendary at using, this disqualifies them both from the highest weapon skill race.
In terms of fighting we have Maklak in the lead with 14 levels and Indigo with 13.
Replica has attained legendary status in crutch walking, making him the pony with the most legendary skills right now (mining, crutch walking).
Lycaeon has also gained legendary mining skill, but will be keeping his spear instead of switching to mining drills.
Indigo_Surprise begins to train crutch walking.
Objectives/General:
I savescummed three times this session.
First time was when two irradiated storms spawned inside my perimeter, incapacitating many of our group and a great deal of farmers.
Second and third time were due to failed battle outcomes, Lycaeon was killed by a black radscorpion while assisting the caravan guards and Khenal was stung in the head by a giant radscorpion.
We achieved few things this session, much of my work is slowed down or delayed by laziness and lack of required materials.
I'll set my mind on building a terminal, only to find out that I lack a chair, then I go to build chairs and see something else that needs my attention and then it continues like that and I only end up adding that job to a growing list of objectives.
Still, everything is going well and I am working on it.
