Evening reportLemon is doing well for itself.
Session three starts off with a lovely feral dog invasion.
We have few important duties to attend to at this time so we all go out for some good old feral dog cut-em-up.
Indigo is injured and brought to the hospital with minor wounds, he is immediately treated and rests.
While Indigo lies in the hospital Lycaeons broken tail finally heals, but he is stuck in the traction bench, so we deconstruct it and he has now returned to active duty as our chief medical pony, leader and militia commander. Congratulations sir, you only missed
everything.
Still, being the most qualified doctor it is good to have him back with us. To avoid situations like those in the future we will now be establishing a medical staff that tends to the hospital at all times.
P(ony)SI is currently part of this staff on a part time basis due to her excellent service in treating all those wounded with no losses.
With Lycaeon up again Indigo recovers almost straight away, I imagine Lycaeon getting angry and kicking Indigo out of her bed for lazing about and throwing her out of the hospital for stealing soap. Which speaking of, we need to make more of, we don't need soap and the hospital is stocked, but looking at Crazy Cow's and Maklak's excessive happiness soapy baths seem to give mad good thoughts, and good thoughts are good thoughts, so more soap it is.
Shortly following Indigo's
recovery ban from the hospital a horde of radrats attack, our heroes go out to deal with them and Indigo and P(ony)SI fiercely compete over kills.
Lycaeon still has no weapon and Replica has serious problems with moving with his nerves being all smashed and sliced and all.
A large migrant wave of 27 ponies arrives just as Indigo and P(ony)SI finish the radrats off, covered completely in rat blood the two greet the horde of migrants and brought inside the stable where they get to take the G.O.A.T as all migrants must.
G.O.A.T results in 3 medical ponies, 3 riflepony, 3 craftspony, 3 macepony, 2 knifepony, 1 swordspony, 6 farmers, 4 fisherpony, 1 chief of security, 1 trader and 1 spearpony.
The secondary militia squads are almost filled up and we still don't have a barracks for them to train in or equipment to give them, this will be seen to later.
The farmers were desperately needed, so those were immediately put to work, farms were expanded further and more varied surface farms were built.
It's tedious to tell you exactly what they grow, but lets just say that they grow a lot, and they grow varied stuff. I don't like depending on one food, it's boring.
The fisherponies are a poor and unreliable source of food, but they add variation and we don't need them anywhere else at the moment, we are practically swimming in idlers which I am still waiting for an opportunity to assign to some major project, like the iron industry.
Medical staff is good now, eventually the hospital may get expanded and more qualified doctors will be added to the staff, but for now I am confident that Lycaeon and his interns will handle our odd mutant bite and scratch, and if anything serious happens we have it all stocked up and prepared for the worst, even soap, which is the second time ever I use since I began playing Dwarf Fortress a couple of years back, is available.
There is one pony who doesn't take the G.O.A.T however, Straw Styleclap, a pony with hunting labours enabled showed up in the wave, and immediately set about hunting the local black radscorpions forcing the stable to be put into panic mode and Straw to be locked out.
Straw was unable to survive with a mere BB gun, and was incapacitated almost immediately.
It took him a couple of seasons to actually die, because that's how long it took for the black radscorpion to
strangle his throat using his massive sharp pincers.
When the scorpions left the stable was unlocked and Straw S. buried.
He will be missed... by absolutely nopony at all.
A significant amount of wood and scavenge was designated to be cut down, this is a mini project that was interrupted relatively frequently by scorpions which are too risky to be fought at this stage.
Following the recent migrant wave we got two nobles, like mentioned in the GOAT results.
We now have Thorn Scoldlantern, Chief of Security and Twilight Uttersnake, Trader.
Thorn Scoldlantern is an unicorn stallion and seems to be related to security somehow.
Twilight Uttersnake is an unicorn mare and is described as being a "relentless broker", which is just what we need in this world of greed and egg roast exploits.
Thorn wont be doing his job for now however, we still need to set up some kind of holding area and better organize the stable authorities, we don't want the stable to be anarchic, but it isn't vital right now, so it will come later.
Another feral dog wave arrives, the holy 7 are dispatched once more and successfully maim every last motherfucker.
Maklak is wounded however, fortunately the wounds are minor and the worst thing he'll get out of it is a scar, pressumably he'll be able to use it to his advantage when courting P(ony)SI, and scars also make good party talk.
Which speaking of, immediately after Maklak recovered P(ony)SI threw Lemon's first party.
This is neither a blessing nor a nuisance at the current stage, so I am refraining from interrupting the parties with SIREN.
While the party was underway we designated the hospital for smoothing, this serves no practical purpose, but looks really pretty and clean, which is what we are aiming for the hospital.
Our trader, Twilight, goes into a fey mood, becoming our first moody pony in our establishment.
She requests a single rough gem, so we use our secret mind powers to pinpoint exactly where we can find those without unleashing a mini hell in our shabby makeshift bunker.
She begins constructing her mysterious construction and produces Stopquest, an artifact Armor Stand.
We greedily place this armor stand in Crazy Cow's bedroom for the moment, we still don't have a barracks for our squad so we might as well pamper her and keep her happy for now.
This session is a session of firsts.
The pony "Death" which I have mentioned before gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby earth pony girl who is destined to become a psychologist, which actually means she is a craftspony and will toil under near-chinese working conditions on various things from the day she comes of age.
I had hoped for *EHERGM*
SOMEPONY ELSE to have the first child, but this is also okay.
We build an armory and two stone foundries, because those are among the things we needed the most (armor user training and stone bins for all the crap we have).
Unfortunately in the case of the armory it turns out that we need a set of Steel Combat Armor as a reagent to actually use the workshop.
I assume the reagent is preserved (or I am going to be proper pissed later on) so we are working on scavenging some combat armor.
We begin the construction of 90 stone bins.
A few are pumped out and many of our goods are stored away neatly.
Soon we'll also have to build stone barrels due to our increasing amount of food and drink.
Like Maklak had predicted I am now almost, kind of, swimming in brewable plants, which is exactly what I want.
Our scavenging industry is initiated shortly after the rock containers project was initiated.
We are aiming for steel combat armor, and with all these medium and high quality logs laying about we have a pretty good chance of finding some in addition to steel pitchforks for Lycaeon and our other soldiers.
We still haven't processed any of our scavenged items, no crates have been opened, Hearth's Warming Eve, an old pre-war tradition that was preserved in the few stables who actually survived, is coming up and somepony had the idea of leaving then unopened until Hearth's Warming Eve reaches Lemon to boost morale a bit.
What we can see in terms of crates however are:
16 damaged civilian crates.
11 civilian crates
1 explosives crate
4 Ministry of Image crates
5 Ministry of Peace crates
3 Ministry of Morale crates
2 Ministry of Wartime Technology crates
3 Ironclad Industries crates
1 RobronCo crate
1 Ministry of Awesome crate
Overnight somepony labeled every single crate with 'TO THE BAR OF ALES, LOVE SANTA CLAUS', which is questionable seeing as there has been no mention of any Santas or Clauses anywhere before. Despite this the original 7 are all giddy with anticipation over opening those babies up.
Replica is especially excited about the Ministry of Awesome and RobronCo crates
Lycaeon is more interested in the Ministry of Peace crates.
Crazy Cow has been keeping an eye on the Ministry of Morale crates, in the hopes of finding something to cheer ponies (but mostly herself) up.
P(ony)SI and Maklak are both leaning towards the Ministry of Wartime Technology and Explosives crates, being more focused on what we actually need, ie weapons and armor in preparations for future attacks.
Lastly we have Khenal who snagged the Ministry of Image crates and Indigo_Surprise who hogged all the civilian crates, broken or not, for herself like the kleptomaniac she is.
Note, that the crates and scavenged items are not in the adjacent stockpile like ordered.
The finished goods all ended up scattered anyway despite toys and tool/toy materials being forbidden in other stockpiles, still need to figure that one out a bit better, I know that it can be fixed, because I did it in my previous stables without any serious problems.
Another migrant wave showed up just before the end of the session.
This one is smaller and consisted of 11 ponies, of which 1 was a child.
GOATS for everypony and we got, 1 mage, 1 clothesmaker, 2 macepony, 1 trader, 1 butcher, 1 riflepony, 1 craftspony, 2 scavengers and 1 fisherpony.
The trader is not needed, but will be unassigned and left to do whatever anyway for now. Might assign it to gem working or something.
Now our mage, Bright Coupleally the unicorn (duh) stallion is interesting.
What he wrote on the GOAT describes him as "a master cleric" with a "fundamental understanding of restoration magic" which I have absolutely no idea what it means but
can guess that it is related to healing somehow (how this works ingame I have no idea, I was convinced that healing spells didn't work, but evidently if I am looking at a cleric and nurse robots I must be wrong).
We will be keeping him safe until needed, his duties will consist of gem working and perhaps something else.
List of professions:3 Butchers
2 Clothesmakers
6 Craftsponies
9 Farmers
4 Fisherponies
3 Knifeponies
7 Maceponies
1 Mage
1 Manager
4 Medical Ponies
5 Rifleponies
6 Scavengers
1 Security Officer
2 Smiths
1 Spearpony
1 Swordspony
2 Traders
Total 58 Pop
1 KIA
Kills and score:The stable of Lemon has witnessed the death of
86 creatures, out of which 3 belonged to us.
Current kill list for
The Bar of Ales (or DF Modding Board) is:
Lycaeon - 0 kills
Crazy Cow - 3 kills
Maklak - 4 kills
Replica - 6 kills
Khenal - 8 kills
P(ony)SI - 28 kills
Indigo - 31 kills
As you can see Lycaeon is still lagging behind, Crazy Cow is despite her very unremarkable physique (ie not a fatass with "untold amounts of fat") unable to keep up with the much faster Indigo, and Maklak is also not doing very well in terms of kills. Replica is still nerve stapled and might as well be considered crippled for all intents and purposes.
Khenal has been keeping a very low and unnoticeable profile but is still among the leading three with 8 kills.
The competition lies between P(ony)SI with her 28 kills and Indigo with her 31.
But kills isn't everything.
In terms of personal improvement our two leaders are Maklak and Replica, followed by P(ony)SI and Indigo.
In weapon skills Maklak lies in the lead with 6 levels in axes followed by P(ony)SI 5, how he got this with only 4 kills is a mystery, but I don't question mysteries, I just accept them.
In fighting skills Maklak is in the lead with 13 levels in Fighting followed by Indigo's 12.
Indigo has also begun to use her knife, finally. She is level 1 in knife handling and has been practicing avidly on carrots much to Khenal's dismay.
As for Replica, he has become a level 10 crutch walker and is increasing this skill very rapidly.
At level 14+ he will be just as fast as he was before and will once again be able to compete with the others.
Objectives/GeneralStable was savescummed/rerolled once this session, Crazy Cow was killed by a black radscorpion who just entered the map while chasing after radrats.
For this session we have checked off:
-
Armory (For Armor User training)-
Drinks Production(But have attained other unlisted objectives, such as recovering Lycaeon)
We still need:
- Early Iron Industry
(fucking seriously this time!!)- Barracks
- More wood/scavenge
- Archery Range
- Steel Combat Armor
- Steel Pitchforks
- Gypsum Trade Agreement
- Underground Pasture
- Secured Surface Farms
- More Rooms
- Holding Cells
- Kennel for war dogs
- More farms, 'cause farms are the best and I love farms and farms are great
- Butcher all but 3 roosters
- Divide scootaloo coop into breeding and egg production
- More prepared meals in preparation for next caravan
Aaaaaaaand thats basically it.
I probably missed a bunch of crap, but I think I got the highlights, impressive amount of stuff I wrote considering that I only had a list with things like "FERAL DOG CLEAROUT" to remember by.
We'll see if I feel arsed to write another report later. I really like this stable, but I also have other shit that I need to do but don't want to.
To do what I
want to do or do what I
NEED to do, decisions decisions.
