Good, we are not currently starved.  Very good.

Head back to the mouse area.  Slowly move closer and closer to one of the outer lichen.  When any mouse starts to seem to react to you, hold still.  Stay stopped at that point and wait until one of these happens:  Hunger reaches 2/7 OR a mouse or something else comes to feed/drink/sleep/act distracted within our awareness OR a mouse or something else starts to approach us directly.

We can stalk a mouse that is paying attention to something else, much like we caught our first.  We can leap at a mouse that comes directly to us even easier methinks.  And if neither of those seem to be happening and we get to hungry to wait, we can then rush and snag more lichen, then get out of the area if we must.
Good plan.

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Counting Imp's original post, his plan has +7 with no alternative plan. If you're waiting for a new plan, you should probably stop, I think we've got about all the current players in agreement.

Most likely our host is busy right now with other matters.  We gotten 1 update already today, and if we're very lucky maybe we get two - but maybe not.  Our host has other stuff to do too  ;)

You march your way back to the nexus of sewers, with the abundant food and many mice. As you enter, you sense the vibrations of many clambering feet ahead of you. As you near, you see the walls of lichen and the clogged up waterway. You get closer to the lichen when you see that several of the mice are now guarding the lichen, and several of them are baring their teeth at you. A few more are feeding on the lichen itself.

You stay still, waiting for them to make the first move. You wait. You continue waiting. Waiting. Waiting. And waiting. This is getting you nowhere. The mice seem quite happy with the arrangement; they have all the lichen to themselves and hample ample water supplies. Worse, they seem to be switching out sentinels every now and then, which means that they're all eating and drinking. You on the other are starting to get hungry.

We are currently in a nexus of sewer canals that has become clogged with debris. A prospering ecosystem has been established in this area. Lichen, mice, other plants and something in the water inhabits it. A large log had emerged from the sewer water. Long vibrations can be felt from above now and then. The mice are huddled towards the lichen wall, with several of them watching you at all times.

If it is possible to approach the water without going any closer to the mice, do so.  Once there, stay out of the water if possible, stay as close to the shore as possible if not, and examine the edibleness of the debris/plants/other things we encounter there.

Debris, especially around the water (and clogging the water path) have been mentioned several times.  Some of these debris may be organic.  If we do not encounter something strange on the way to the water, and if a wall of mice do not guard it, we can possibly scavenge with safety.  That 'log' may be an absolutely excellent banquet of many meals if we can reach it, but it may only look like a log to us who have never seen a log.... it may be something else entire.  Anything organic we can reach will be something.

If it is impossible to approach the water here without going any closer to the mice, then move 'upstream' (the way we came) and attempt to approach these 'debris' from that side.  If we can approach from that side safely, then explore debris/plants/shore for edibles, staying out of the water as much as possible.

If debris block the water path then debris may have accumulated for a long time, be quite thick, and likewise harbor/hide/offer a ready and easy meal or three.

If it's impossible to reach or find edible debris from the upstream side without disturbing the mice further, then it's pretty clear that it is impossible to enter the water here.  So move back upstream, a 'decent distance' from the ecosystem.  Enter the water there.  Stay submerged for a short time - verify we are as comfortable submerged as we are enclosed by air.  If we are comfortable, slowly and without splashes move downstream, attempting to eat a decent amount of debri/plants/algae/other our-sort of food. as we go.

Move away and try to find another food source.

We need to develop some offensive/predatory traits, cause all this scavenging isn't doing us any good.

Scavenging AND herbivory.

Investigate the debreis, consume organic bits.

Climb onto log and, if it is moving, ride it down the sewers past the mice. Regardless if it is moving or not, attempt to eat whatever mosses or bugs may be on the rotting log. We need new evo possibilities wherever we can get them.
