So today I learnt that loading a game causes all the actions you had scheduled to be undone, so I rescheduled everyone for pretty much what they were doing last turn.
8:00 AMHey guys, what have you found this time.
Well we searched the attic and the basement and we found a whole bunch of tools.
Tracy and Lucus found an angle grinder, a crowbar, a fire axe and a sledgehammer in the attic, and a flashlight, handgun, and a screwdriver in the basementOh, and another handgun, though there's no ammo.
At least I can double tap akimbo style now.
Oh, I also noticed this bottle of gin under the couch in the living room.
...and a bottle of spirits in the living room.
Tracy says half the rooms have been searched.Half the rooms have been searched.
Called it.By the way, are you done messing with that flashlight yet? We could probably use it.
Oh... yeah, I was supposed to be working on that... I sort of forgot.
Kristopher is modifying a flashlight... again.Ok... where's Nichole anway?
I sent her out on another cigarette run.
Hmmm, this place doesn't look like it has any cigarettes.
The warehouse at 7 Union Way is a tiny building with around five rooms. It has four doors and 11 windows leading in from the outside. This place looks like it should have a cache of tools.
Nichole scouted the perimeter and saw zero zombies outside, peering through windows she saw one zombie.9:00 AM
Nichole returned from her recon of the warehouse.I'm back.
Good, now go scout the other warehouse to the southwest.
Why do you keep sending me all over the place?
Because nobody here likes you, and growing up with daddy's trust fund paying for your living expenses means you have no useful survival skills.
Ugh, you really hate me don't you?
Actually I'm just being realistic, and in actual fact I'm the only person here who doesn't hate you.
That can't be right.
Check the relationship chart.
... oh dear.
Meanwhile...So we're agreed, shoot Nichole in the leg and run?
Sounds like a plan.
Tracy and Lucus have been discussing tactics, they both feel smarter.
Tracy and Lucus found a chess set in the living room, and a baseball bat in the bedroom.10:00 AMI have completed my modifications of the flashlight, it now glows to provide illumination in the dark.
Isn't that pretty much what a flashlight is supposed to do?
Don't question my genius.
Kristopher has created a glowing flashlight, it is now better at searching locations.Lucus and Tracy found a packet of painkillers in the bathroom and a cooking ingredient in the Kitchen. All the rooms have been searched, we're not going to find anything else here.
Yeah, it's probably about time we started looking at moving on.
By the way, I thought you guys should know that we spotted our first zombie outside a while back.
Ok, here's the plan then, Tracy, you and Lucus go kill some zombies.
Shouldn't I be the one to-
No, because you're making me a sandwich. It's almost lunch time.
I don't think I want to do that.
Hey, I'm the leader here, you voted for me, so you have to do what I say, that's how democracy works.
Then I withdraw my support, you no longer have the support of the people and-
You seem to have a very bad understanding of the basic principles of democracy, now get to the kitchen.
11:00 AM
Tracy and Lucus attack a zombie while on patrol, Lucus struck it in the head with a switchblade killing it instantly. And first blood goes to me!
Kelli made a small meal and stopped preparing food because she ran out of ingredients. Here, it's every scrap of non-dorrito based food we have in the house, I hope you choke on it.
We're back, and we took care of the zombie.
Ok, great. Now you and Kelli can go assault the store and take of any zombies outside.
What about me?
Hang out with me and keep an eye out for zombies while I work on my latest invention.
12:00 PMHey guys, I'm back. The other warehouse was more or less exactly like the last one, only it looks like this.
Tracy and Kelli assaulted the store, they killed two zombies outside and saw three more inside, while leaving they saw two zombies shamble out of the aisles.Hey guys, we're back from killing a couple of zombies, so what's the next move?
Well we're going to wait a bit, then we're going to start trying to breach the store. You guys can relax for a while in the meantime.
Hey Tracy, I was wondering if you wanted to play a game of chess?
Why are you any good?
Well I know a little bit of the rules and I think I can play a pretty good game.
Later...How do you get a checkmate in four moves!
Tracy and Nichole played a game of chess, Nichole expected to win and is now annoyed, Tracy is feeling sharper.
Kristopher created a recoilless handgun. It is now better at assaulting and breaching locations.Wait... recoilless handgun as in recoilless rifle? How does that work?
Don't question my science. Now everyone get ready to move out, I think it's time we all took the store.
I don't think I've shown you guys what map movement looks like, so here's a couple of screens.
If you want to move someone you click and drag their marker onto another building to get them to move like I've done with all five of them here, once you've done that then the order to move appears on the clipboard, by default it's set to investigate and you have to change it to either assault or breach by clicking it which leads to the screen below.
Oh, and take note of the red X next to the house. That means that either Lucus or the assault team that attacked the store last turn spotted a zombie near the house. There's also another X by the store but you can't see that because a marker is covering it. Keep in mind these things aren't 100% accurate, just because you see one zombie doesn't mean there aren't more out there.
This is what I'm going to call the "movement screen", here you can choose what kind of movement you're doing (I believe I explained the different kinds earlier), and what equipment to bring. Here we're bringing pretty much everything with any kind of value along since we're going to temporarily move house to the store while we search it. There's a few reasons why this is a better idea than just sending a couple of people, the biggest one is that it's easier to defend one place than two places at once, there's also the fact that once we take the store, we're going to want to search it, clean up the corpses, and have someone keeping watch for a counterattack (which tends to happen a lot if you've just breached a building on account of all the noise you make doing so). Given that the house is still unsecured, its' generally just safer and easier to have everyone at the store, plus the extra hands on deck clearing the place can't hurt, right?
Anyway, in spite of there being only a few zombies at the store, breaching can still be pretty dangerous... Which is why I think this is a good place for a quick cliffhanger while I do some chores. I should be back with an update in a few hours.
