Barth frowns before answering. "He was apparently drunk and he wasn't especially skilled with the club he was wielding. I'm able to hold attackers enough to avoid being killed or escape combat, but I'm not a warrior. I prefer to avoid fighting."

"Makes you a badass pacifist. It scares me to think what would happen if you DID fight.

I mean, you took a lightning blast from a Persona without bothering to stop helping Ke. I don't care, that is somewhat badass."

"I guess one of my squadmates, Catherine, or Cath, is also one. 7 campaigns of duty won, not a single kill. She doesn't need to, she just disguises herself as an enemy, and sabotages the enemy. And by disguise, I mean turn into that person, because that's her ability. Mine's telekinesis, she shapeshifts."
She sort of blushes at the thought of her.

Richard looked away slightly.

"Makes you a badass pacifist. It scares me to think what would happen if you DID fight.

"Well, I almost died, didn't I? And I think the lightning had already lost part of its power when it hit me." Barth says, touching the bandaged side of his body with the scar.

He had apparently learned the gist of what "badass" meant, although he hadn't received much exposure to the word beforehand. "Hmm, Lucas? Don't you feel worried that change may be eternal?"

Seriously, badassery isn't about physical strength. It's about having the willpower and mental strength to keep going."

"Plus, there was last night when me and that torikan were nearly at each other's throats and you stepped in to tell us to stop being immature. I mean, she seemed pretty willing to murder me but you risked your life and stopped the situation from reaching that point."
