What's this?!
Has Golddepths nearly reached the end of the first year?! This is amazing! In honor of this, an anonymous dwarven engraver has created something to commemorate the reclaiming of this mighty fortress.

Spring has arrived!

I re-dwarf'd Eastep as the engraver (who recovered from a broken and infected ear as well as a smashed upper spine) as Eastep X, and Gavakis as the broker.

So on Obsidian 17th, we came under siege by the Undead. Fortunately, I was able to pull everyone back inside the bunker and wall it off. In order to properly eliminate such a siege, we'll need to have a means of individually disposing of the corpses immediately after they are de-animated. I also walled off one of the other exits. We also seem to be out of bolts.

It looks like old Golddepths will remain uninhabited for a while longer. However, I have dug a tunnel to the excavations of Golddepths proper. When this is finished, it can be connected up to the old stairwell by digging it out.

Fortunately, I've pulled inside most of the wood supplies we were in need of. We have enough wood to last a while. I have also dug out some larger farm plots which should keep us going.

I was going to plumb in a water supply to the aquifer. However, I didn't manage to do anything with that; I was going to put the well in the room at the far end of Gold Sector. We still have a well to the aquifer in one of the tunnels.

Finally on 1st of Granite, our Mason got taken by a fey mood!

Good Progress CaptainArchmage™

It's been long past two days, does that rule no longer applies?
I though we were to play our turn until our dwarf dies, or two days have passed.

In any case, when will the next player get the safe?

When I'm done uploading it; should be able to do so in an hour or two.

OK, file listed here: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=7101

Important stuff to note:
-We have a strange mood in progress.
-Move the animals pastured in the farms somewhere they can eat. This is a raising biome, so do this ASAP.
-All the entrances and exits have been walled off. If you want to use the atomsmasher to dispose of stuff, the lever is to the north.
-A new sector is being dug out, which was originally intended to be part of the proper fortress. This has good-quality housing.

If players agree, we should set nerve and cartilage to heal. To do this, paste [HEALING_RATE:1000] below CARTILAGE_TEMPLATE and NERVE_TEMPLATE in tissue_template_default.txt

I'm also going to sign up for another turn.

Reminder: If you're in America right now, or you can vote there, go and vote. Preferably before you start playing the save.

I'll get started with the my turn tomorrow. Could we get a list of people that have to be kept dwarfed?

Edit: this for is confusing.

First of all, don't break open any stairwells.

Also the fort advanced a little from 1st Granite, so the strange mood was completed!

I'm afraid to admit that the fort crumbled during mid-winter. It all started from Eastep X failing a mood and going stark raving mad. I forgot to quarantine him and he starved. I managed to seal off the dead dwarves but later other dwarves started tantrumming after losing their families to the zombie Eastep X. This led to another dead dwarf in middle of the fort and soon the remaining ones died from either zombies or lack of booze.  :-[ Should have build more doors.

-We are low on booze. Go, my minions, and do my bidding! Your overlord more demands booze!
-So many camel teeth. Just how many can a single camel have? They are everywhere!
-Built a kitchen since we didn't seem to have any. Started making more containers for booze.

Felsite
-Digging a aquafer filled cistern for making underground farms
-We had huge farmplots and too many farmers so removed a few unskilled ones.
-Assigned dwarves labors

Hematite
-Eastep X went fey and wants bones. Have to take a risk and start butchering

Malachite
-Eastep X has gone stark raving mad. (no bones)
The next line in the event log:
The Stray Horse (tame) has been slaughtered.
       Almost made it in time
-Oh, and watch out for the horse hair in the butchery. (it is sealed)

Galena
-Peragar has gone missing
-Removed a dump zone I made earlier for getting rid of stone from the cistern.

Sandstone
-Found a trapped zombie in the plumbing (under the new farmplots)
-On the other news, I figured out what happened to Peragar II
-Our food production and stockpiles were all over the place so started digging a dininghall with all workshops and stockpiles around it (which made the fort even more confusing)

-Forgot all about the insane Eastep X and now he starved and started killing dorfs. Crud.
-Managed to seal the corpses in the reclaim fortress. Good news: we lived. The bad news: Dorfs are rather upset and we had to retreat even deeper.
-We are cut off from most of our food and booze.
-Started digging a passage to the old stockpiles (which are safe but on the wrong side of the reclaim fort) to get furniture.

-Started making a relatively large area for a tree farm since we are cut away from the above ground trees. (near the cistern so it can be watered)
-A dwarf went insane. Bah, That is the natural mental state for dwarves!
Have to seal him before he dies
-Started building more doors (we really need them.)
-Someone died and started killing other dwarves (again)

Moonstone
-Managed to haul some of the corpses into a room with a door.
-Reclaimed our old booze.
-Scruffy died in the booze stockpile (dehydration I think). There are too many corpses to haul
-More zombies keep coming. This fort is not going to survive.
-If I only had had more time to build doors.. (I have some but they were in the sealed part of the fort)

-The only ones remaining are insane Brewster and Gavakis who is about to die in his bed.
-Dead

Edit:
Here's the save. Fixed some typos and whatnot.

I agree. Perhaps consider savescumming?

We could possibly try starting a new fort. Not necessarily on the same world though.

However, I support the idea of a savescum back to the beginning of your year.

We could start another fort in the same world near the previous one.
