The weredwarf Urist McUrist has come! A bearded drunkard twisted into minute form. It is crazed for booze and socks. Its unwashed beard is tangled. It needs alcohol to get through the working day and has gone without a drink for far too long. Now you will know why you fear the mines.

Et tu, Urist

So, let me summarize.
It's not even the first year passed.
Most of our supplies(and anvil) are at the surface occupied by undead dogs and Eastep.
Undead yaks, cave crocodile and Domas inhabit the cavern.
There are only 5 (or less?) unhappy dwarves survived.
And it's my turn to fix it. Right?

Runs around chaotically and screams in panic
It's a truly a challenge for someone like me!

...I bet two hematite boulders that they don't make it past summer.

well... I just loaded it.
The siuation is:
Peregar the miner is laying unconsious at the cavern, with some injures.
Arch the miner is unconsious under the cavern, next to tunnel he was digging.
Undead croc is approaching, he corpse of undead dwarf (Domas?) is laying near the stairs.
Brewster has tantrum at the main hall. The last dwarf does nothing.

So, when I unpaused, the dwarf corpse rose and killed first Peregar, then Arch. We left with Brewster and another dwarf.
I tried to seal the stairs, but croc was the first. Unnamed dwarf ran to caverns where got chasen by zombie Domas, while croc entered the farm zone where Brewster was farming plants, after giving up his tantrum. I activated the militia, and brewster killed the croc, and unnamed dwarf killed the zombie. I took a breath with releath, but then miners rose and killed both survivors.

I doubt it was salvagible, with two crippled dwarves at cavern, who are the last miners here.
By the way, their combat report tells that it was Brewster who crippled them!

Well, should I reclaim or savescum?

I win! Wait, no one took me up on my bet...

Reclaim.
I was going to accept, but then I loaded the save and decided not to.

The log of Feral Clasp, reclaim party
Our expedition was sent to find out what happened with a group of crazy adventurers who wanted to set a fortress somewhere at sinister swamps. I would never go here, but the government paid us very good price, so....
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We took everything we needed (since we had a great budget for ir. Really, almost 10 thousands!!!) and set off to dreadful swamps, trusting only our own weapons and will.

1st Granite
We have arrived. No dwarf or any living being in sight, just a rough black pyropes under our wagon's wheel...

Everyone out, archers - eqiup yourselves, citizens - don't get into any mess, got it?

Aha, first targets - skeletons of dwarf and of cat. The dwarven one lacks the central part, so it's unknown how it manages to move at all!

I'll delay the actual reclaim till tomorrow. My laptop hardly works with this save, so I'll move to more powerful desktop. Also, feel free to request dorfs - we have 4 archers (Tulon is mine, so 3 are free), miner/mason, miner/carpenter and woodcutter/doctor.

I'll take the miner. You played StNPO-II, you know my standard naming procedure right?

This looks quite promising! Redorf me as "Foddyr", and just pick a crafter dwarfed any kind. Preferably stone crafts!
Hopefully these brave dwarves can secure Golddepths...

Also, just a headship for just in case the turn comes around to me quickly; I don't play Fortress mode very much... If that hasn't shown yet, then whew!

The log of Tulon Tinmirrors, ledaer of The Feral Clasp
We group to take care of skeletons that we approaching, and suddenly

Whoa, it jumped out of under wagon! Morul, it was good shot. Now, let's do those skeletons...

And then another undead poped up - this time it was dog corpse that immediately bit a miner in the guts. Just bruises left though.

So, after all nearbyundead were killed, I asked one of miners
- You, what's you name?
- GreatWyrmZinc, a part of GreatWyrm clan...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
(a rookie cut in) - Oh, and I'm Foddyr, nice to meet...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
- Foddyr, mah dear, have I said I want you to say something?.... So, GreatWyrmMyAss, you and others dig the shelter under here, bring all food down there and lock inside. We're cleaning the old halls, and when it's done, you dig a tunnel from shelter to inside. Got it?

So, we moved on to the gate (actually, just a shale door) and entered inside. The stench of decay and undead roar of skeletal yaks greet us... luckily the steel crossbow I have shoots faster than any undead creature can move!

We cleaned the entrance hall, nad I sent my guys to reload and tell citizens that it's safe and they can dig a tunnel here.
I was left alone on guard in this terrifying halls...

This place bring bad luck to anyone. Tulon is dead for now, the corpses are laying at the halls and I don't know what to do with them... Should I pass the rulership to Arch?

This fortress is quite interesting :)
I'd like to take the woodcutter / doctor as "Dr. Valrandir"

Well, if the character you're playing goes down, then you pass the turn along to the next player...
Which means Arch is up! Or Scruffy if he isn't around. Hopefully one of them can end this monstrous Edduddolush and bring a semblance of peace to Golddepths.
Valrandir, you are lined up on the list, and at the rate that this fortress has been going, you'll probably be playing tomorrow or the day after!

Ok, here's the save
http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=7085
Good luck anyone. Beware the corpses, better set up the smasher for them, or dump them somewhere with no exit.

Idea - the zombie moat! flooded with magma for !!zombies!!
