Foolprooof way to penetrate aquifers of unlimited depth.  (Make sure to import at least 10 stones for mechanisms)
Toughen Dwarves by dropping stuff on them.  (Nothing too heavy though, and make sure to wear armor.)

You're in a terrifying, freezing biome and you manage to kill one of your dwarves with a drawbridge. I... I have no words.
And this is going way too well in general. I can almost imagine that this fort is going to make it through more than two episodes. Almost.

By the way, the semicolon in my name is just because I apparently already made an account here but didn't confirm i, forgot my old e-mails password and couldn't come up with something fancier. No need for my dorf to have it.

Very nice, the fort looks like it'll survive the first year this time. I was also planning on staying near the surface on my run, but then I saw the magma pipe in the caverns. I obviously decided to stay in the caverns and carve a home into it. Anyways, lookin forward to the next episode.

Yes you are my only carpenter and I put mason on you because I had no wood and needed some walls built :P
