It's Amroth we're talking about, so he opens the fight with some kickass lightning: he flat out kills one of the trolls. The training definitely paid off. Tyd doesn't want to be left behind, but aims for a smaller target: he shoots the goblin warleader straight in the head, killing that one as well.
Most would think Ice overextended himself by going after the ogre, but it goes incredibly well: the direwolf latches onto the ogre's right wrist, and the ogre drops his club, and it's also bleeding heavily. The ogre punches Ice several times, but the wolf doesn't let go, despite his injuries.
Ishar faces another troll, and immediately slices off its left hand. The troll should not be underestimated though, as it replies with a quick jab of his remaining hand, knocking Ishar flat on his back. The other troll tries to finish him off, but Ettad blocks his attack with his shield. That troll tries to grab Ettad to break his bones, fortunately failing. Ettad attacks the troll with his axe - the attack connects, there's no problem with that, Ettad is quite strong, his weapon isn't bad... but he isn't that strong, and his weapon isn't that good, so he deals only minor damage.
Sir is bit slower than the others, so he gets surrounded by goblins. He bisects the first one he encounters at its lower torso, dodges a few incoming blows, and starts massacring the whole group. The cave crocodile is the only thing there that could possibly hurt him, but the dwarf is agile enough to stay out of its way.
Amroth casts second wind on Ishar, and while te healing effect is not that good (he is far from being totally healed) it gets him back on his feet. Tyd helps Ettad out by shooting the troll in the back, as Ettad is chopping at it with minor results. Ishar tries to finish the troll he crippled with his previous move, but trips, and falls on his knee. The troll uses this to its advantage, and kicks him square in the jaw, koncking him out for the rest of the fight.
The ogre manages to shake off Ice, but fails to really hurt him, and the direwolf snaps at its legs now. The ogre is certainly bleeding, but blood loss is unlikely to kill it from such a relatively minor wound... it is definitely focused on the direwolf, and a bit too slow to catch him, so Ice succeeds in getting its attention while the others deal with the rest. Sir certainly does his part: he gets a few minor hits from the goblin, but his armor protects him from any harm, and he slowly wears the goblins down. No dismembering blows like the first one, but still quite effective.
Amroth decides to help Ettad, and blasts his opponent in the back with his lightning, not killing, but knocking it out for a while. The one-handed troll attacks Ettad, and he gets dropped on his back. Was it not for the armor, he would not have remained conscious. He drops his axe and shield, and grabs Ishar's sword from the ground. With that in hand, he rolls away from a stomping attempt, and cuts off one of the troll's legs. The monster falls over, and bleeds out soon.
Tyd fires several bolts at the third, unconscious troll until he is sure the troll won't get up ever again. Sir is finished with most of the goblins at this point, several cut-off hands, feet and heads decorate the arena. Only three goblins remain, and of course the cave crocodile. Amroth casts lightning at the ogre, the monster is hit on the shoulder, and Ice leaps on his other shoulder, sinking his teeth into the ogre's flesh. Ettad rushes in, grasping the adamantine sword with both hands, he practically impales the ogre. The colossal beast is now bleeding from multiple wounds, and is also hit by Tyd's next bolt... the combined effort of the remaining gladiators slowly brings him down.
Amroth is exhausted at this point, and not much help to anybody. Sir is finally caught in the cave croc's grasp, as the beast manages to bite his leg. He immediately sinks his sword into its skull, killing it instantly, but that doesn't change the fact that his left leg is held down by a huge (although dead) reptile. He fails to reach any of the goblins, who turn their attention to the others.
Ice runs past them, grabbing on of the goblins by the arm, and drags it away. He drops it in the far corner of the arena, and begins feasting. That goblin is done for. Ettad beheads another with the sword, And Tyd pins the other down with an arrow to the foot. Sir finally reaches that one, and stabs it in the back, ending the fight.
1500 gold for Tophat and myself, with 150 additional for me for the critical kill. Ishar is heavily injured, starts the next fight with half HP.
The antmen blindly rush ahead of the others, and they get a warm welcome, as Mog casts his flamthrower, incinerating all five of them. The others pause for a moment, seeing the carnage, and this is a mistake: Cadmus has time to aim and shoot, killing a goblin with a headshot, while Dog tackles the other goblin to the ground, and starts biting at its throat.
That leaves the two most dangerous opponents to Wendell. He tries and fails to attack one of them, but fails to block the sword of the other one, so he gets stabbed in the side. He coughs blood, but doesn't stop: he bashes the second soldier in the face with his buckler, and disarms the other one. Cadmus and Mog help him out, with their respective arrow and firebolt each hitting an opponent. Wendell gets his shit together, and uses this pause to behead one of the enemies. The other one gets surprised by Dog, who finished his goblin lunch shortly before. Wendell sinks his claws into the stomach of this one, looks him in the eye, and pulls the claws sideways. The guts of the man-at-arms spill out, and he tries frantically to try and contain them. Cadmus walks closer, and puts an arrow in his head to grant him a mercy killing.
You get 560 gold, plus 40 for the critical kill. No injuries, Wendell is tough enough to walk off the side wound.
Thranduil fires a lightning arrow at the cyclops leg. It connects, and the lightning does its thing, but the giant is hardly hurt. The direwolves lunge forward, with mixed results. Wraith and Specter only take small bites, but Ghost manages to scale the cyclops, and he tries to go for the head. That's way up though, and the cyclops has no intention of letting it happen. It grabs the direwolf by its tail, and smashes Ghost face first into the ground, breaking his neck. Celeborn tries to attack as well, but forced to back down, as the cyclops' club swings dangerously close to him. Medea casts a freezing spell, but she isn't used to something even close to this size, and the spell fails.
Thranduil lets another arrow loose, this time hitting the head, but missing the eye by a few inches. The cyclops stumbles back, the lightning disorients it, and both of the direwolves jump on it now. Wraith is more successful, and wrestles the huge club away from the cyclops, while Specter tries to scale the back of the monster, trying to reach the head, the same way Ghost tried. The cyclops is confused, as it is still hurt from the arrow, and occupied with the direwolves, Celeborn leaps into action, using his claws to climb the cyclops' leg. The hide of the monster is so thick, it doesn1t even feel the small weight of the elf.
This time, Medea helps with direct damage, smacking the cyclops in the head with an ice ball. It blurs its vision long enough for Celeborn to slit a tendon in its leg. The elf falls off, but that doesn't matter, as the attack is wildly successful. The cyclops falls onto its knee, and Wraith lunges at its throat. The cyclops grabs him of course, but doesn't manage to break the direwolf's hold. It probably could have done it, but was afraid that the direwolf would tear most of its throat in the process.
With the angle and distance greatly improved, Thranduil hits the eye with his third arrow, effectively blinding the cyclops for good. The monster loses its mind, ripping Wraith away from his throat, and throwing him far away. Wraith tries to land on his feet, but breaks two of his legs. Definitely out from this fight.
Still, it doesn't seem to matter anymore. The cyclops wildly kicks and punches around, Specter reaches his head, and starts gnawing at it, Celeborn slashes endlessly, Thranduil and Medea empty both their quiver and mana reserve, and overall, the gladiators fight like a pack of rabid wolves. Their attacks do little damage, but the cyclops doesn't manage to hit any of them anymore. The relentless attacks slowly wear it down, and finally, the cyclops collapses from the combined wounds.
2000 gold, but I'd advise you not to try it again - you were lucky with several critical hits.
Darnack opens the fight with lighting one of the enemy wolves' fur on fire, with a well-placed firebolt. The other one collides with Wolf, who has the definite advantage of armor plating, so Udmog turns his attention to the other one. The direwolf rolls on the floor, trying to put out the flames, so it doesn't notice Udmog, as he goes in to bash its brains out. The club strikes hard, and the direwolf's skull is shattered. Wolf hold down the other enemy, and Udmog follows the same routine as before: he clubs the direwolf like a baby seal. The fight is over, surprisingly quickly.
300 gold for you.
