Well, +5 is the maximum an unaugmented human can achieve, and I don't know exactly how strong space marines are, so I couldn't really tell you.

From what I remember, they have the strength of 10 men.

+5 is like far above average, though. 0 is human average. So they'd be +9 or thereabouts by that 'strength of ten men' thing.

Also, I would rather use SPECIALS, essentially Fallout's system modified to include Sanity, than SIDEWALC.

SPECIALS would apply better to my characters due to the fact that I both don't understand SIDEWALC as well and the fact that SPECIALS allows for more specific information for the characters who don't use magic in any form. I hate magic, so none of my characters will be magic-users. SPECIALS also shares a most traits with SIDEWALC, namely Strength, Intelligence, Endurance, Agility, Luck, and Charisma. That just leaves Sanity, which would be closish to Wisdom, and Perception, which is like Dexterity.

If you're running a game where characters are to be built on a 100% compatible system, I'd imagine no. Of course, you can always run your own game!

Also, if they're so similar then why even use SPECIALS then?
