You can pick a password for me.  Just please pick a password that can be typed with only the keys on the left half of the keyboard because for me the password menu only accepts that side (Ah, EFS, game of infinite bugs).

Enemy in the Church? This is not your father's Li Halan...

I don't actually know the lore more then tangentally.  But I prefer to think of it this way: Li Halan is so devout they wouldn't even think about asking the church for favors.  "Enemy in the church" doesn't represent that the church dislikes them, it's that Li Halan won't try to buy their votes.

Any luck genning a new map?

Alright, I spent a good 30-45 minute generating the best five maps I could come up with. All I did on mainiac's turn was select a research subject for him.

Here are the five best galaxies I could come up with. They're not all perfectly balanced, but I feel like they would all make for an interesting game:

#1

#2

#3

#4

#5

5 seems a little unbalanced to me.  Istaker has about a third the map to itself.  I like 2, Kish get's a third of the map on that one :).

Sure, if you're looking at it from the point of "X planet is 3 jumps from me and 4 from you, therefore it's mine." I think this is a good thing, though, which can spark skirmishes. They can't defend all those planets from rabid vultures. They're also disadvantaged when it comes to proximity to Byzantium II.

I also prefer #5. The more room for expansion a house has, the harder it is to get to Byzantium.

Well I guess 5 isn't that bad.  TBH I was probably turned off a lot by the erratic shape of the jumppaths but that's not too important.

Decados has a really nice defensive position in #5. Combo of Leagueheim and Sigmata to guard the left flank, and chokepoints at Cadavus and Manitou. Of course, if the League goes hostile and an enemy gets elected to the Stigmata Garrison....

Question: With random maps, does it automatically make whatever planets are in the Stigmata "pocket" into Symbiote worlds? Example: Daishan, Apshai, De Moley on #5 -- Symbiote worlds instead of human?

I like #4 seems balanced with the exception of Hawkwood. #1 and #5 are also good. The other two I don't like because Byzantium Secundus is distinctly behind "enemy lines" for certain Houses, whereas in the others it's more centrally located and difficult to blockade.

Also, if people think there's a map that's generally good except they don't like their house's position, I'm willing to switch and play any of the houses.

Just pick a map where mainiac's planet only connects to Stigmata and all will be well.

But then the Symbiotes would gain the craftiness of mainiac!  You'd all be doomed!

Looks like everybody so far is o.k. with #5. If Aqizzar doesn't object, we should take it.
