Yes, yes, I just felt like impaling myself with an arrow, because it's just so much fun! They're just not attacking now! We might as well try to find a way to kill this thing, as the longer we talk about it, the longer I'm bleeding out.

"Wait, what? This is what he asked you?" Tala said in a whisper, flabbergasted at Vara's idea of joining the skeleton crew.

"Alright, alright, your idea. I won't interfere. Arnok, hold still and don't attack. Diplomacy first."

Get ye spear.

Restrain Arnok and stay in a defensive stance, holding my spear at the ready should anything charge us.

She leaned closer to Vara.

"Why aren't they attacking? The skeletons, that is."

"You think I have any idea, I'd just like to get out of this, preferably alive."

Tala grabbed the man by his shoulders, firmly so as to get his attention.

"You're not bleeding out unless you pull that arrow out, which I strongly advise at the moment." Perhaps it was the feeling of pestilence that was getting to the poor lad. "Calm down, don't get another arrow in you, and relax. And no, don't impale yourself. Again."

She looked at Vara.

"Then we ask first, before attacking." she said in her most sincere way of benevolence.

"And remember, you ruin things for me, I'm going to make sure the first one dead is you." Vara says referencing Arnok

What the hell did I do!? I could kill you in an instant anyway, on any other floor! Now would you just hurry up and kill him one way or another already?

((I almost see the horsemen in the form they take in The Binding Of Isaac. Does anyone else see that?))

"Let's not get the death threats out, now. Diplomacy first before swords and spears. Just because you got shot doesn't mean we have to fight, I'm not sure if you tried the more subtle route of talking in a nicer way, Mr. Arrow-in-my-ribs.

"We can all happily insert our daggers into each other later on."
Tala said, missing any other kind of connotation her words meant.

((O_o

You were with us all this time?

Edit: nvm, you somehow decided to barge in and attack regardless of our actions. Continue.))

Whooops. Change action: Watch what happens around Pestilence at a safe distance, intervene when needed.

And I tend to not read things too thoroughly. :(

Then just read that book, and twiddle thumbs. Has someone got a glass of wine?

Initiative 97, Pestilence's turn:
(6) Pestilence shoots poisoned arrows at the group!
Vara: (6) But Vara could dodge!
Tala: (5) It didn't cut through the clothing as it grazed at her!
Arnok: (2) Was hit in the middle of the throat! [Roll to be alive: 1]: Dead.

"Vara...Tala...Help..."[/s]

Hope they help me up, and help Vara stab the symbols.

Spoiler: Arnok Balaiken (click to show/hide)

All of his inventory falls to the floor.

"Well, this is getting us nowhere. . . let's try something else"

Inquire as to what happens if I join Pestilence.

Spoiler: Vara Meadowbreeze (click to show/hide)

(2) Pestilence glares at you. "YE WHO HAST CHOSEN TO FIGHT ME. SUFFER!" It seems that it is insulted.

Spoiler: Tala Aquilon (click to show/hide)

(4) You have your spear ready. How useful.

---

"Now then, an integral part of War is the Peace at the end. If you want to, just please, surrender now."
Grab the dagger from his shoulder. If he surrenders, let him, but don't trust him. If he doesn't, go for the other arm.
Spoiler: Asmodeus Deux (click to show/hide)
[/quote]

(4) "Ye who hast fought me as equal. We shall meet again." His hand regenerates instantly and he takes the claymore before killing himself.

War has been slain.

War's door is open.

---

"...maybe I should just take this common sense of mine, and throw it out of the window. That is, if we had windows down here... there probably are some, though... I don't know what to expect anymore."

Leave and go back to the center room, listen to the screams. Then, remember Famine's book - ask Asbes whether he has brought it and whether I can examine the thing myself.
Then follow Asbes if he decides to join one of the other two battles.

Spoiler: Angio (click to show/hide)

ask Asbes whether he has brought it and whether I can examine the thing myself
"Oh, this is a book of understanding. If you are successful in reading it, then it allows for your understanding to get better, enabling you to read higher-level books. Here, take it." Asbes says, giving the Book of Understanding to Angio.

"I already read one of those." he completes with a smile.

Back to the first room. Try to to help in the fight against Pestilence with a solid punch at its crown, unless dipomacy works or appears to be working.
Spoiler: Asbes Elman (click to show/hide)

You can't join the fight. ((One action per post.))

A Book of Understanding changed the owner.

Tala's eyes widened in shock as an arrow lodged itself in Arnok's throat as she tried to help him up. Sure, he was a selfish jerk, and sure, it seemed like he was only out for his own survival.

But he was a teammate, one of the party. A Seeker.

A plaque flashed through her mind, echoing it's words.

Quote
Ye who hath formed a party must proceed verily according to the laws of the adventurer. Nay, shall a man or woman be left behind or be forgotten to the foes ahead. Yea, shall ye do thine utmost effort to secure thy comrade's life as if it was thine own.

If an ally shalt fall, their belongings shalt be possessed by those who fight beside them. Their loot, be looted by their allies, save less from the foe. Their body, be given an honorable burial regardless of situation and alliance.

For yea, this is the creed of the wanderer: The Adventurer and the Wayfarer.

"Well. F&&k."

Spear charge @ Pestilence, aiming to disarm it of it's bow and knock it down!

But first, get his items and stow it, and his body, out of this room!

She didn't know the man, and she'd bet he was only showing his darker side due to the objectives of this area.

If only...they had been gifted more time.

"It is locked...I think we can't do much aside from waiting." Asbes sighs, sitting on the ground and waiting for his teammates.

Check pestilence's door and open it if possible to.

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.
