This.
We should also see if there are any cheap second-hand cars to rent/buy, and let Gilbert make his own mind up about the lessons.

EDIT-changed rent to rent/buy.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

How far apart is everything? Would a bike be sufficient?

Consider writing a book about the menial repetitive chores of everyday life in an exciting way.

I assume that suggestion was towards LordBucket, in which case I second it.
I doubt that our... antihero has the skills to write anything remotely successful or even readable.

We have to put work into this too, we should have a lot of publicity work to do later... by which I mean ransom notes, manic speeches and cat stroking.

You're about 2 miles from your college, and you're familiar with the bus routes. That's not a problem.

The problem is getting to the ninjutsu class. You're in Irvine. The class is in Mission Viejo. It's ten miles as the crow flies. The classes are over at 9pm, which happens to be exactly when the buses stop. You could take the bus to class, but you'd have no way of getting home.

If you rode a bike that would mean adding a 20 mile round trip bike ride to an already exhausting martial arts class that you're only barely keeping up with as it is.

...I assumed that suggestion was yet another disparaging comment from the peanut gallery about this being a reality based forum game.

No, I meant that seriously for Bob Mason. I doubt his writing skills are bad. Depending on what classes he's taking for his college, its more likely he has half decent writing skills.

Meh.

I say we hone our writing skill on something easier to write well, or at least sellably, like cheap fantasy/sci-fi.

A Romance Novel!  Our Pseudonym shall be Ophelia Raven...something, and our book shall be called A New Shade Of Crimson!

Nah, that would break our own spirits as sure as that of our enemies... I was more thinking about researching Rhetoric and maybe join the corresponding college clubs first.
Writing a book- even pulp- takes more time and resolve than we currently can spare.

I'll say, Don't bring up the classes to Gilbert. maybe even discourage him a bit, by mentioning how sore Bob is (that's mostly because I consider him more of a RnD kind of guy who doesn't go out and risk his hide)

If we take the deal we'll be left with about 10K cash that isn't tied up.
with a rent of about 400 dollars a month it would take us 60 months to earn back the investment, of course if we need cash we can always put the house up for sale again, for a loss or a profit depending on... factors...

personally I'm in favour of getting the house. sure it sets us back in funds, but bolstering our monthly income feels pretty good.

Lets try to not take on any more physical regimes. I'm neutral towards improving/working on our writing skills.

next order of business though. learning some tips from Clara and Stan about raising some cash.

I agree, get the house. We need a dependable source of income... a bigger one, I mean.
Consider finding a cheap inexpensive and fairly fuel-efficient automobile.

There is a severe shortage of ninja mad scientists...

Because the idea is crazy.

Both mad scientists and ninjas need tons of dedication and training to be halfway good. Being both would be nigh impossible...

Maybe a trip to a local auto dealer to look for something?

Yeah, and I would prefer stealth over speed when it comes to cars. Something small and grey.
