Heh, that whole situation was sort of funny in a messed up way. I really did think that Moderator was as good as dead back there, so props to him for surviving.

Not that I judge Zan. Unpredictable stuff like that always spikes my interest and makes things more FUN for me. I do love the unpredictable and the wonderful potential for flair that accompanies it, if played off well.

Although the purpose of this trial / game is in no way simply to entertain the great Gman and or the Gman's affiliated online personas, I appreciate your efforts wholeheartedly. ;D

Reflectively, I question why I didn't simply name my forum profile Gman instead of gman8181. Alas, the opportunity has long since passed and the prospect of creating a new profile here does not particularly appeal to me.

Wasn't the M dead there for a moment?

Also, is it just me, or do Destruction players have it easier?

That's only because there are so many people right now.

Don't recall off the top of my head. Might look up later if I have time.

It would probably be most effective to use a combination of the two. Going purely destruction or unification would be pretty difficult either way if you limited yourself to only taking actions corresponding directly to your goal.

By which I mean-
If I was aiming for unification, I'd probably be killing off non allied groups and individuals in addition to trying to make my own faction more powerful.
If I was aiming for destruction, I'd probably be trying to get groups or individuals to work with me towards destroying my enemies in addition to just... destroying my enemies.
-So either way, it would be easier to use a little bit of both, with the end result, in my opinion, being somewhat less of a deciding factor towards how difficult things are.

My original idea for Jorn was for him to be partly the first one.  Not really destroying as much as "convincing" them to join me. With an army of demons.

So I'm curious, what does the destruction goal specifically require? The destruction of the human race? Aren't some of the contestants human, thus required to kill themselves if going the destruction route, or are they excluded?

I don't think any of us really count as human anymore.

I guess they'd win by unification of the sole survivor. :P

I'd say it depends a lot on what the capabilities of a given Chosen One are. Certain abilities, skills, traits ect. can definitely make a Chosen One more suited to accomplishing one goal over the other.

While I'll admit that killing someone is generally an easier task than converting them to your cause, there's a good chance the difficulty could shift later on, when those focusing primarily on Extermination gain enough notoriety to become passionately hated enemies of whatever remains of humanity, and following those who are focused primarily on Unification starts looking like a pretty decent alternative to being slaughtered into extinction.

So I'm curious, what does the destruction goal specifically require? The destruction of the human race?

Spoiler: Extermination (click to show/hide)

Pretty much what Vgray said. Those chosen to compete in the trial are elevated to a status above that of normal mortals (not that a lot of them were really all that normal to begin with...), and thus do not count toward the Extermination goal.

Hm. Does that mean that if one where to do a mass exodus of humans from Earth to another planet, that would qualify as satisfying the extermination clause? It seems to pretty specifically key in on 'humans inhabiting Earth,' so it makes me curious as to if that's open to interpretation.

EDIT: Then again, I don't think the contestants can leave Earth, so it's probably a non-option.

Good observation. Sending the whole of mankind to some other realm/planet would technically count as eliminating it from the Earth, and therefore could indeed be considered a rather roundabout way of achieving the Extermination goal.

EDIT: Then again, I don't think the contestants can leave Earth, so it's probably a non-option.

While the Earth has been clearly established as the main playing field of the trial, Chosen Ones are not at all forbidden from traveling elsewhere should they have a means of doing so. Though I can't say that running off to cause havoc at the far end of some alternate dimension will be very conducive to one's ultimate victory and ascension to godhood.

Huh, didn't realize it was barely a week.
How've ye been, oh DZA?
Well a more accurate question would be 'how're you doing' but whatever
