"Ah. Understanding. Please to be coming this way miss. Wanting drink, food?"
Kaylee enjoyed her reception onboard the alien ship. She knew little of the extraterrestrial races, but apparently these ones showed finesse.

"No need for food and drink though. I was wondering how your people cleared the hiveship, what kinds of weaponry did you all use? Also, how does this ship run? Same old connections spanning every open corridor or...you refurbished it? Seems pretty familiar to me. Everything works just like a Federation ship, yes?

"Anyway, why does Mark want me in his office anyway?"

General distress signal ON, or general "help I'm under attack by pirates" signal.

There's a long moment of silence, before the General's voice arrives over the Feed.
"Retreat and head back to Hell. You've no authority to deal with pirates...

There's a long moment of silence.
"...Let me."

Arrest Kaylee
[5=3+2] vs [10] The arrest attempt fails, the crewmen trying to ambush Kaylee giving away their position too soon, a few stumbling as they try to grab her.

Danal nodded at the men, and took the offered cup of coffee as he replied,

"That would be quite nice, been pretty busy lately. Anything I can do to help you through getting this established, its quite a relief on me to get this underway, and I'm glad you all accepted this offer."

Avens...

Kaylee bit her lip as she examined the situation. At first, she doubted what Avens said through the communicator being related to something on this ship, due to the horrendous amount of debris lying about but now...

Her hand went for the bootblade, bringing it out with a quick motion. If she was going by the roots of Systema, then there would be some good in fighting a group armed with stronger weapons than a knife.

Why do I keep on forgetting my own belongings?

As she stood in an open position, with knife in her fore-hand, she smiled at the feminine-ish alien. "Err, excuse me, I really don't like people trying to grab me in that sort of manner."

ESCAPE! ESCAPE! HEAD BACK TO MY MECH!

But first, lose the people who are staring at me right now. Check if the ship has surveillance cameras on the hallways or corridors as I...do. Use non-lethal movements to evade.

Order the drones deeper into the ruins. Begin preliminary investigation on 4Quert. Start tracking down the coder on new eart, using fed agents whereever necessary.

Start increasing industrial efficiency, as well as designing military walker platforms (Battlemechs), advanced ship designs, and streamlining current plasma weapon construction to make them more resource efficient to produce.
Preliminary research into stabilising D:13 travel to prevent mishaps, at least on common, well-traveled routes.
Simulations are to begin, to begin developing anti-mecha tactics, along with simulations against Lanyrian "Behemoth" and "Leviathan" class bioships in order to deveol proper counters for those as well.
Biological weapon research is to begin, using data from samples of the consumption plague to fromulate a toxin that is able to utterly able to destroy said plague (Along with other organics...)
Begin physiological examination of all species with borders wth the federation for infiltraton use.

[10] The Drones dodge the blue-flash of light, as well as the large rockets that follow such an attack, finally sending images of a golden, smooth sided craft with a number of ports on it's sides. It flies in a constant patrol, trying to shoot down anything near it.

[3]  4Quert remains as elusive as ever, your new agents managing to dig up a few employee records, and one crazy man who said he worked in most companies that are all evil and corrupting the moral well being of Voandrath.

[6-1] Quickly trying and failing to produce any noteworthy results on increased industrial efficiency, however, increases in smelting times prove viable, but inefficient, at this point. {5 progress}

[9] You personally take it upon yourself to develop Anti-Lanyrian, Psionic, and mecha simulations for use in training soldiers to fight. When you try and search for a model of this...Behemoth, you find no such luck, and only passing references to the Leviathan class, which was seen only a few times in various skirmishes between the two nations.

[3] Information on Alien anatomy and physiological information is sorely lacking, and despite your best wishes, you only realize that the only reason the Aliens at the borders keep their distance is not due to peace treaties and alliances, but pure and simple fear and respect.

[4-4] The two peacekeepers you sent to New Earth go missing one day. Disappearing into thin air without a trace. [4-4] Furthermore, you find several reports listing those two Peacekeepers as committing a number of crimes and abuses of power.

SCIENCE WILL NOW REQUIRE 1 SCIENTIST FOR EVERY SUBJECT AFTER THE FIRST.

"It will be my pleasure to do so, Mr. President.."

With his new set of duties, Arthur did not waste any time settling in into the position of administrator of federal navy.

Fed Navy orders:
Order status report on all fleets and naval bases in the federation.
A battlegroup of 10 fleets (henceforth named "Liberation Fleet") is to prepare for the action at planet 4M92.
A reconeissance of 4M92 is to be carried out before Liberation Fleet sets out.
2 fleets is to be sent to planet Hellstal, to find out the current situation there and find out the status and position of General Versen.
3 fleets are to be sent to Oberon for peacekeeping operation; to warn and stop any conflicts between worlds in the system

Valeria Orders:
Overhaul of military security is to be done: new training regimes, more cameras and secure equipment as well as overhaul of security protocols and restriction of access to projects and bases. 1Acred is to be spent on that.
[~] Most of the information is good, and very little fleet and fueling bases are understocked. A number are having disciplinary problems regarding the use and addiction of Valerian libido suppressing pills, despite the Federal ban on such drugs, and as such, request more faux-leather, studded lashes.

[10] All ten Governor Fleets are loaned to you after numerous verification and authentications, every single one filled to the brim with loyal soldiers, recruited from various planets from hardened military forces, but still on probationary periods of training. {10...Federal Fleets...gained}
[8]  4M92 is a grain basket of a planet, covered by well-grown fields of genetically modified crops, tended by slave laborers. The cities are shanties, set on crossroads and near markets, between the ever stretching fields. The Largest and well-defended buildings, set apart from the villages, are military bases.
[6][7] The aggressive planet backs down upon the announcement from the Federal Fleet and no one comments on the fact that you just committed an illegal act using Federal soldiers to settle a quarrel.

[~] The fleets will arrive at Hellstal in mid-summer.

[2+1] Despite your best attempts at beefing up security, you only just scratch the surface of making your bases and fleets more fundamentally secure, and a cost estimate about such matters makes you wary.

Fire on Aven's mech. Disable it, then tow it in and arrest Avens.
Arrest Kaylee- don't let her get back to her mech.

General distress signal ON, or general "help I'm under attack by pirates" signal
Hide in front of the "blind spot" Kaylee and I just made. If it is not truly blind, and has other point defense, blow them all up and hide there. Hopefully crossfire.
[6 vs 3+2] Aven's mech makes to dart toward the Hiveship, trying to avoid the sudden shots lancing out from the fleet, but a direct impact on her shield staggers the mech.
[9 vs 5+2] There's another heavy blast, her mech cork-screwing from the blast, plates buckling, cracking under the fire, glowing red-hot. The undefended Hiveship is close enough to touch.
[7 vs 10+2] Avens blinks, her hands flying over the controls with a growl of anger, the mech doing a three-sixty, dodging a pile of large slag launched from a railgun. The rockets from her gun tracing perfect paths towards the turrets and cannons as she dodges and weaves, exploding with fiery brilliance.
[1 vs 8+2] The explosions continue until Avens runs out of rockets, the fleet going through the final shockwaves and blast as she continues to pull the triggers, face set into a snarl, all fire from the enemy cannons ceasing. The silence of space is all consuming as a ring of destruction wreathes Geum.

The Tapalcayo fleet is crippled, lacking any real weapons, many ships broken.

ESCAPE! ESCAPE! HEAD BACK TO MY MECH!

But first, lose the people who are staring at me right now. Check if the ship has surveillance cameras on the hallways or corridors as I...do. Use non-lethal movements to evade.

[8 vs 7] You barely escape the ambushes, dodging gun-blasts as you bolt down a stairwell, dropping the last two levels with a well-planned roll. A club flies by your head as you bolt into the docking bay like a flighty desert-cow colt.

[8] Yes, the ship has a number of cameras, but you're too busy to notice them as your bolting along.

[8] You swiftly climb up your mech and exit the ship in a flash, the docking bay slamming shut behind you.

[7] You freeze in your tracks as two rockets whiz by, turning the two turrets slowly, sneakily aiming at you into shrapnel and flame. In the center of a wide ring of destruction is Aven's mech. Shield-less, it's torso charred with cracked and buckled armor plating. You watch as it destroys every gun on the ships, blowing a few choice engines off, before it stops, suddenly.

Danal nodded at the men, and took the offered cup of coffee as he replied,

"That would be quite nice, been pretty busy lately. Anything I can do to help you through getting this established, its quite a relief on me to get this underway, and I'm glad you all accepted this offer."
The coffee has a heavy, potent sting of alcohol, as well as the tell-tale sign of real coffee beans being used (I.E. It tastes like actual coffee.)
The man with the suitcase draws out a few sheets of pair, gesturing for you to sign with a pen on various spots.
"Pleasure is all ours. Sign and initial where he needs ya' to, then we'll to'ah and start 'em up.

[9+1] The mines, factories and farms of your planet seem to impress the two...or just the cowboy-hatted one, since the other stays mute and silent.
He shakes hands, asking people about their work schedules and fairness, and while there's a few complaints, it's nothing unusual for a business.
{+1 Acredit worth of income gained~}

Emmanuel clenched his teeth. He didn't want to be one of the organization weak, frail leaders, who hid behind their soldiers. He didn't want to be the one to control masses of grunts to do the work he should be doing in the field. The young man most certainly did not want to cower and hide, manipulating minds in order to prevail. He would help people, and he would help them now.

Keep assisting in the efforts.

Versen strides forth, helping to pry the drill bit from the wall, teeth gritting with the effort, the servos in his hand whirring loudly as he slowly draws it from the stone like some mythical sword.

[10-2] That's when Emm hears a faint tapping on the wall, from the north. It takes a few swings of a pick, before a hole appears in the thin wall of the corridor, and looking through it reveals a number of people, grimy, injured, but alive. The wall is removed and the people escorted above ground for medical help.

[6-2] Work continues, but while survivors are found and families recovered, many people are dead, remains broken or mangled by rubble, shards of Lokium or iron shrapnel. When Emm stumbles upon a room filled with the mangled, crushed remains of a family of five. Once Emm is done vomiting, Versen orders him to keep working...somewhere else. He then checks his watch and heads to the surface with a sigh, drawing his sawn-off.

The ship was much like the replicas under study in the museums and libraries spread around the system. A modified cruiser, with the foundation being artificially made. Navigating the area with dozens of enemies swarming your position was hard enough, and it was only be sheer luck that Kaylee escaped.

She was glad that her experiences in the first three months in Hell were not sent to waste. Evasion was the driving force of survival, being outnumbered and outmatched. No lives were taken, fortunately.

Who had ordered this whole affair, anyway? Surely a diplomat wouldn't break relations this easily.

Still, it was good to see that some of the aliens were disoriented. Climbing Iridia was a simple task, bolstered by adrenaline and constant practice of ladder climbing. Kaylee hoped that this was all a bad joke.

"General distress! This is Kaylee Averys of the 76th Mechanized Division, Aces and Eights operating under General Versen, Federation Fleet. We are under attack by pirates of alien origin, three orbits Voandrath-north of Hellstal. Requesting immediate assistance from all ships within range!"

Kaylee recorded the signal and set it to broadcast automatically before deciding to defend Avens via body-shielding and counter firing at any projectiles aimed at her Mech. If none, open fire at any other turrets online.

Switching to a private channel with her old friend, the Corporal glanced one last time at Mark's ship before shifting control towards the Geum. She was surprised at the firepower it unleashed and took, at the same time.

"Avens, are you alright? Warp out of here, now! Mark doesn't seem to be acting like he is.

"I fear pirate takeover!"

Some situation we've got here...Something must've gotten to Mark before we could meet.

Avens takes a deep breath, leaning as best as she could on the now useless rocket fire controls while still restrained. She hears the empty-gun-barrel-click sound that is sent over the static-y speakers to aurally indicate the finished rocket stores. She says,

"Oops."

What just happened? Maybe it was best described as a crystal-clear red haze of ... of ...

>Comm on
"Yes. No. Maybe."

Avens takes a shuddering breath again, and repeats,
"Yes, I'm fine, but no, I'm not able to warp. I don't think my ship is up to it... You have ammunition, right? Shoot every ship with anything that looks like a weapon in the... Reactor. Or wherever will make it unable to shoot me in the back. I'll have to fly back to Hell and land normally. No D-13 space for me."

Kaylee bit her lip in thought. If she would spend her ammo in the other factor of destroying those who fired upon them, it would probably make them pirate-meat for anyone who would attack when they returned manually. Though, if she only aimed at anything attacking both of them...

She flicked the comm channel to the general area and sent in a hailing signal to the Flagship.

"Mark! I know you can hear me! Cease-fire or I will be forced to shoot at the rest of your precious fleet, diplomat! Why did you attack us?

"I invoke the rite of Parley!"

Peace?

"...You idealist id-, erm, person, just shoot first and ask questions later!"

Avens says that a bit more harshly than she would usually, tired as she was from her ordeal.

"I wouldn't trust that oversized amoeba even if you held a gun up to me. A big, big, gun, with three thousand gigawatts of power, or whatever."

She cradles her aching head.

Kaylee nodded as she heard her superior's tone shift. Choosing to go directly to the point than to apologize -- that would be done for later, when she couldn't hear her heart beating loudly.

"Sorry ma'am, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I'm not sure who coordinated this attack, but I know Or, y'know, think I do what the plague does. He's a diplomat, and by logical conclusion...either he's being an idiot, has an ulterior motive, or something is controlling the ship that he can't control.

"Like he's a puppet or somewhat."

"It's better to be safe than sorry. That's why you should shoot first and ask questions later."

Avens frowned, though Kaylee probably couldn't see her.

"Whether he's stupid or not, you can't really talk when your lungs are spaced. Or plan, for that matter. Do what you want, then."

[6] The Fed-fleet arrives, marines surging from the ship into the space-station, guns loaded, ready for action as their ceramic plated, kevlar boots tromp down the corridors.

[~] As it turns out, the entire place is empty, devoid of life with only the most barest life support active.

[5] The entire station is empty, except for a single bottle of Scotch with a ribbon around it. Dust covers the brown glass, and the lid is sealed with wax.

A tag on it states, quite simply, 'Fuck you, Scotch.'

Order all ships to settle into orbit around the planet Isaeyr and send an open message out to anyone who can receive it.

"This is Admiral Tyr Anasavi of the mercenary company Hand of Fate. My company is looking for work if anybody is interested please contact me

Then send the captains of two ships down to the surface to look for work for us or any information that could be of value to us.
