Don't worry, you've got the stuff to be a proffessional poet. Just keep leaving everyone puzzled and pretending it just went way over their heads.

Just keep leaving everyone puzzled and pretending it just went way over their heads.

I think that's the strategy that was employed in a lot of people's turns.....

There once was a dwarf named Reason
Who was logical in every season
He said they should trade
For what the elves had made
And he wound up hammered for treason

This has received the blessing of Armok's servant, the Wolf God.

So, is the fort officially dead w/o any chance of reclamation?

Bah, my thread notification keeps failing on me and I stop getting thread updates.

That said, you're all in the same position you were in last time I was here. So that's lovely.

I carry it on my Ipad for long trips & periods of boredom when DF not available.

I don't know why, I just love that the description of my turn has remained eternally "Description/Subtitle Pending." Don't ever change it.

I propose something else: Let us do this as a Masterwork fort with all reasonable options enabled, throw in some extra mods and call it Battlefailed (The Reboot). Is there an expanded dictionary that we can use? I feel the current one is a bit too restrictive on our fortress vocabulary.

Alternatively, Terrorchamber the Hell-Battle of Horror sounds like an appropriate name for Battlefailed V.

Given current events, I've altered my profile pic and I'm sorry it took so long to fix. If you find the old one on any of my accounts elsewhere on the internet, let me know by message (along with the specific site) and I'll fix. Can't link the revised avatar for some reason.

If people want, I'd be totally up for doing a series reboot, but I'd prefer to wait until DF2014 comes out, especially if we can get the seed numbers from the original Aluonra and see if it can still produce a human queen of dwarves.

The seed shouldn't be a problem. At least if you can extract them from a running game. I have the 1st Granite 503 save for Battlefailed right there. Albeit with somewhat updated raws.

To get the seeds I need:

1. Find the region file in your Dwarf Fortress directory, and make a copy of it. Call it regionX-legends.
2. Load it up and abandon the fort.
3. Start that region save in legends mode.
4. Hit p.
5. Go to the main directory of Dwarf Fortress and there should now be a file called regionX-world_gen_param.txt. Open it up.
6. You should see four parameters named SEED, HISTORY_SEED, NAME_SEED and CREATURE_SEED. It should look like this:

Code: [Select]
[SEED:pvwYJSmUSsH1JndxxmTq]
[HISTORY_SEED:h0e74ED0oFbkle5MfZHG]
[NAME_SEED:7bWZXuj3zUvYELR5XN9W]
[CREATURE_SEED:wXkMos0iQOkFCXmEyFFi]

... although obviously your seeds will be different to these ones. Yours are the ones I need.

We were still in DF31 when Battlefailed started, so it's quite possible I can experiment with whether a seed from a previous version of the game will generate a similar world. It's important that it does, or we won't get Led Shakeoars the Human Queen of Dwarves back, which was kind of important to the metaplot.
