Got my first werebeast

Got my first fort mode werebeast.  What kind of vicious monstrosity was it?  A werewolf?  A werelephant?  A werelion/tiger/bear?  A werebadger?

Nope.




Um yeah.


Clearly the game is trying to indulge my inner adolescent.

All I can say is :o
I haven't laughed that hard in awhile.  From the combat report I'm guessing the WereAss turned back into the human that bruised the Ostrich Cock right?  I bet any spectators that happened to be around were doubled over with laughter.  :P

Especially considering said human's name.

Oddly enough, my last werebeast attack was also a wereass.  Of course that one charged at a carp, scared away the other fishies, then turned back into a human and drown about as fast as a dwarf would have.

My first werebeast was also a wereass. I was laughing my ass off. This is why I love DF. My most recent one was a werebeaver yeah... just as much innuendo there.... xD

Fairly new to the game, so I didn't know these were rare. 

Got a were-giraffe on one of my first games.  Was already running out of drinks, and my dwarfs were having a tantrum spiral due to a lack of alcohol and seeing all their friends murdered due to a lack of a military and frequent goblin attacks.

It was pretty crazy. :)

They aren't "rare" per se. Weregiraffes are infamous for being deadly.

But wereasses colliding with The Ostrich Cock, this is kinda rare.

That reminds me, "cock" is a word used to refer to the male of several species of avians, notably the domestic chicken.

(Given that I, personally, already knew that[1] and thought it was self-evident, had I also missed everyone's appreciation of an innuendo which completely passed me by[2]?)


[1] Also apparent with peacocks, whose counterparts are peahens.

[2] Until, just now, searching desperately for a reason why I might not be on the same frequency as everyone else.  Giant Flightless Avian Food-Preparators, aside... ;)

I know that it was probably well-known, I just like diffusing DF's accidental innuendos.

And there's a good reason that you're not on the same wavelength as everyone else here: No one is on the same wavelength as anyone else, especially in an insanity-oriented community like ours.

Naw... what I usually do when I spot a new(-ish) thread and reply to the first(-ish) post in it, but there are yet more posts beyond that is either read them all first before I even attempt to reply, or else put "I haven't read the rest first, but..." as a caveat to what I do write, then hurridly try to catch up, perhaps quickly enough to withdraw any ObviousStatementIsObvious contribution via later edit.

I did neither.  Thus the innuendo that you all splashed out on (ooooer!) went completely unread even unto the "cock"-clarification[1] until I realised just now what I'd missed out on and read it all up unto the "ass"-disambiguation[2].


[1] Sounds painful.

[2] Less so, I think, but should still only be performed by someone qualified in gluteoplasty and/or lipectomies in general...
