As title says. I got submerged my phone while it was on and now its glitched beyond my meager ability to repair. I'm guessing I should just get a new phone, but any Bay12ers have some awesome and impractical home repair methods? It'd be a total bitch to get all five of these numbers again. Thanks in advance for any help, even if its just, "Get a new phone, you idiot."

Well, I've tried both leaving my phone and its battery in the scorching heat here for over three hours, as well as keeping it in a container with rice to try and suck whatever moisture I could out of it. But I will certainly try the hair dryer before I get a new phone, it honestly couldn't hurt at this point.

Put your phone in the freezer.

I don't know, you should try everything you got.

Although you might want to do the freezer trick last if you really intend on keeping it...

Doubtful, its a cheapie Straightalk phone from Wal-mart. But I can check!

Through experience, here is the best thing to do (only immediately after, though! Good for future reference?)

1.) Turn off phone immediately. Remove the battery!
2.) Open pantry, get out bag of rice. Fill a plastic baggy with rice.
3.) Put electronic in, and fill up. Leave for days.

It has saved multiple devices of mine from dying.
