Ask "Hello" to the room, and proceed in. Carefully.

Common sense here!

Are we suffering from a nervous break down, or what? This is what comes from working so hard, you know. The next few weeks in Japan are going to be just amazing, so let's get into vacation mode-Loosen that tie, man! Let's get out of this sadly empty booth, which has obviously been vandalized by miscreants. Shit, they could still be around! So why are we? Let's vamoose.

Oh, Since the Cab and Bus drivers seem to be on strike tonight, I still say we crash in the nearest semi-habitable Hotel.

Everything will surely make sense in the morning.

Okay, yeah. You really need to calm down, this isn't the end of the world. You are just really stressed out, you need to find a hotel so you can chill out.you could go to your house, but that's in the suburbs, and you are still in the inner city.  You get out of the subway and onto the street, and keep walking. Eventually, you find a nice enough hotel, and walk in. Once again, it's empty, but fuck it, it's fine. You ring the bell.

...

Ten minutes later, you ring the bell ten times.

...

Twenty minutes later, you throw the fucking bell against the wall. What the fuck is going on!? How can you ring a bell, in what seems to be a good hotel, at 11pm at night, which the sign on the hotel said it would be open at, NOT HAVE ANY FUCKING EFFECT!?

You grunt with frustration.

Get mad! Get angry! Walk into the apartment anyway and take your own cursed room.

Welp, go around back and look for people.

If we find nothing, hello penthouse suite, a cart full of alcohol...

Okay. Maybe just a cart full of food.

...and lots of streaming pornography. Leave credit card information, of course.

Common sense argues that it's really quite odd that there's no cabbies, bus drivers, hotel desk tenders or subway workers out tonight.

Alright, you got me. Something is wrong! Let's not descend into a barbaric state of looting and depravity, please. We're a civilized modern American male.

Well, all the people in the city don't just up and vanish, right? I'm thinking there was some sort of disaster that caused a temporary mass evacuation.

Let's start making calls. Cops first, of course. Good old 911!

It's not likely, but if for some reason we can't get them...well, we could always call Kathryn, our ex-wife, chat, maybe check up on the kids. Even if she's with that 'new' guy these days, let's try not to be bitter about it, right?

I know, I'm horrible for suggesting it. But really, if she rightfully chews us out for calling her this late at night, we'll know everything-absolutely everything-in the world is completely good, fine and right. And come on, we're sort of lonely these days. It wouldn't be bad to hear her voice again. Admit it.

lolololololol

Yeah. Call the cops, and if they're gone, THEN descend into a state of advanced capitalism. That's how civilized Americans do it.

Right, you got this. You take out your actual phone (It's pretty cheap, and it doesn't have any special functions) and dial 911.

A click sounds. Someone picked up the phone! Thank fuck!

"Hello? Police?"

There is silence.

"Hello? Please, I need help!"

"Darkness came first, burning the land and the sky, then the silence. Join the choir." Drr. Drr. Drr.

What the fuck was that.

Okay, okay. Katie, you will call Katie. You ring her number up and wait.

"Hi,"

"Katie! Oh God, am I glad to hear your --"

"You just caught me away from my phone! Sorry, but leave a message at the beep and I'll call right back!"

You don't even bother throwing your phone to the ground and stamping on it. You just decide to head to the back and to just get a big goddamn drink from the bar, whether or not there is a barman. You enter the bar area, and see...

What appears to be a human, but unnaturally tall with gigantic talons instead of fingers, and incredibly pale. He is also covered in blood, and his eyes appear to have been ripped out. He is also eating the corpse of a man.

oh god what the fuck

Silently back away, use survival instinct powers to keep silent and get away. If spotted aim gun and prepare to fire.

Common sense isn't going to help us much more now, sorry.

Since we're obviously having some sort of psychotic episode brought on by stress (Or a dream, surely it's a very bad dream), it'd probably be best to calmly back away from that thing which can clearly not exist. I mean, come on, really. And the phone call? Uhhh, I'll get back to you on that...

Now I should inform us, if these happenings continue, Common sense might consider packing up and leaving-no hard feelings, but we'll probably take morality and faith with us when we go. Our Sanity, being a package deal, will seriously consider relocation to a better work environment.

I find your lack of insanity or impractical solutions disturbing.
