Physical: Description: Bill is just about the most generic looking demon you could imagine. Red skin, black horns, dark blank eyes, he looks like any other minion rank demon. However, on a closer look, it's apparent that he cares a considerable amount less about his appearance. Where his peers eyes glint with bloodlust and evil, his are glazed over with utter disinterest and boredom. The horns of his peers shine like obsidian, due to their dutiful cleaning and waxing. His on the other hand, resemble dried mud.


Mental Description: While he resembles your typical demon physically, mentally he does not. He seems to lack motivation of any sort. This seems to be chronic, as he has said that this has occured many times in the past.

Q: Questioner
C: Canidate

Q: How was your childhood?

C: Well, back down in hell, everyone is screaming. From a variety of things, whether torment or because they're so godblessed amped. It sucks. Everyone but me was constantly trying to do something, to go somewhere. They trained 24/7, never taking a break or anything. They never just sat back and took a break to read Playimp or whatever, so I decided to take the breaks for them. I grew up that way. The only reason I'm in this stupid "Mortal Realm" is because some mage decided to summon me.

Q: What was your first job in this realm?

C: So, I told you about the guy who summoned me. Yeah, he was kind of a crappy mage. I think he just said random words into a pentagram, and turns out, that's my true name somehow. Cthulu or something. I was going to kill him, like how they always said in class. But then, I said to myself "Is he really worth the effort?" I responded "No, he's not. We should go get something to eat.". Turns out, the little turd had bound me, to present to the king or something. They sent me to some castle, where their king was. It was a crappy castle by the way. Barely the size of this citadel. So I'm in the castle, the king tells me to go and do the generic demon attacking town thing. I get to the target town, and it's not very impressive. Don't know why they cared about it so much. They're all like "It's a demon! Save us!" so I just give them a half-assed little roar, and they run. Then I step on their stuff, the contracts fulfilled, I'm free.

Q: Why are you trying out for this job?

C: I'm hungry.

Q: Why should we hire you?

C:I dunno. I'm awesome, I guess. Is that good enough?

Nohwei is a strange looking goblin. He is grey, unlike most of his fellow goblins, who tend toward a dark green. Despite being old, he stands tall and is quite hale. He has white hair, and especially pointed ears.

Having served under various overlords in his time, none to his satisfaction, Nohwei thinks that he'll give employment one last try before giving up as a minion. Years of employment with various overlords has given him multitudes of knowledge of how to be a good minion. Perhaps he's overqualified. Perhaps he's perfect for this last overlord.

It's not the -1's that bother me. It's the fact that they have stats way above what should be reasonable. With 6 points per one stat-point, one should at most be able to get one +1, and that's when you pile everything on one stat.

Stat piling only gives you like a 50% chance of getting a +1.   I don't see why you're worrying about this.

Actually, if I put all my points into str I would get an automatic +1 plus a 76% chance of another +1

They're tracking skill points, not skill modifiers. Everyone is, for that matter. Even you.

Though, you and me seem to be the only ones who recorded it as "points placed" and not "points placed subtracting the -1 per skill." Mainly because I assumed the -1 was to rolls, not points, and that it took 6 points to get to +0 in something, not 1.


Sky, could you clarify whether the -1 is to points or total rolls per skill?

The -1 is a -1 to points, not the modifier. You only need to put one point into a skill to make it 0. However, a -1 in a skill means an automatic -1 modifier to that skill, as an exception to the normal rule.
