Behold the flatbeast

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

If you want to avoid extinctions, make a few rovers with order to feed creatures that have an attribute of your choice, they should keep a minimum of the things alive.

Hmm. My underpowered work computer runs it fine, just... slowly. And my overpowered home computer makes it crash on load. ;_;

I've been having problems with die-off on mine for a while too. I'm seeing if I can intervene, but it's dwindled down to about 370 creatures.
Mine die completely. I think it's because the fertility is too low and they eat everything and then die.

Then raise the fertility! Press C, mouse over to the left, one of the buttons there do it.

I've noticed a interesting number on my current world. When I put lower Fertility, huge numbers of things die, and species are culled, and I only have 300 or so creatures left. But on the other sde, when I raise it again it jumps up to 700 and new species crop up.I imagine pushing them up or down beyond my current 2 fertility states would be extreme versions.

Oh, most species have developed legs, with a few very odd versions (spindly short lower legs and Long thick upper legs making it walk almost bipedally, for example).

That happened to me before, then I increased the mutation rate to 20.  The numbers are still small, but things evolve crazy fast, with odd mutations (ex. 50 foot vertical neck, 5 foot body.)

I am now tempted to increase that to 9001.

Do it and post the results.

How long?
It took about 10 seconds on x10 speed. Apparently it has size: 589 or something like that.
I have no idea what is going on

I tried. They all froze or something. There was 860 or do of them there, each bigger than the continent.

Somehow left global cooling on, nearly wiped out everything. 3 species remained at around the time the grass returned, and only due to the rovers.

There is a cool one I wish I could so which appears to have hands. Still no Carnivores though, how do they arise?
