Tried this, but I'm not getting any cool species yet.  I pretty much almost killed off a population splurge with cool creatures developing arms and legs, but they were all sea.  Then I raised the temperature for less sea to get more land creatures, and nearly wiped them out forcing migration.  Now they look like purple mollusks or blobs on land.  Great game though, just hoping I get some more intresting species rather than just a splurge of boring ones who mate like no tomorrow and lag up my game

Hit U and leave it on for a good while. Come back and enjoy the results.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

It has a tendency to crash so you need to check it regularily, it autosaves, though. Thats pretty nice, also you might want to balance the climate every now and then to control population growth.
Could proably nest it in a batch file and have a mousebot handle restarting the sim and reloading the save. I would read all my books then see what's happening.

I like sampling speices and studying behavior. Its cool. Recently i had giant mantis-cthulhu lookalike ocean grzers.

I had no idea people still replied to this topic.

For some reason, the forums and main website have been down, but the blog still works. He has acknowledged the website difficulty and has stated that he is trying to fix it. He said development continues however.

New version out! Now has rovers, fossil record, biomes, web of life, what appears to be a record of various species, which ones died out when, et cetera.

More importantly, whatever problem that existed before is gone, my computer can play it! Happy day.

Awww, I've evolved some kind of squirmy hump-backed snakes that have watermelon heads, a single beady eye and an oddly smug look on their faces. It's... kind of cute, in a disturbing fashion.

Wow this thing is awesome. Just so interesting sitting there watching how the little species develop and exploring the Clade Diagram after awhile.

I left them for an hour on x10 warp speed and when I came back there was like 50 species alive, for more than 1400 individuals. The clade diagram was a marvelous clutter of WTF-esques creatures. Glorious.

Er...I tried this and everything died. After about 10 seconds on high speed, with normal settings and blank slate. Was I just unlucky?

I've been having problems with die-off on mine for a while too. I'm seeing if I can intervene, but it's dwindled down to about 370 creatures.
