Pauly sighs, and sits down to eat. As he's picnicking he watches his surroundings closely, making a mental note of everything he sees.
You set up a nice picnic on the edge of an eery jungle and munch on your nondescript ration while observing your surroundings.
[6] You pay close attention to the jungle. This all seems very wrong. The Jungle should be thriving with activity, not dead silent. You think back to the forest, and how there was no life on the ground. Any animals at all were in the treetops, you'd assume, and this was due to the vines. Maybe there's something equally dangerous here too?
You think back to your vast knowledge of Sci-fi trivia. Wait. This jungle seems very similar to one in that one episode of Stargate: Universe...but what happened? You wrack your brain for answers.

Eat yon Ration!
Then search for elastic material/Whippersnaps.
You consume yon ration in a very nondescript way.
[5] You start wondering where you might find elastic material, a mostly synthetic material.
You look over the lunchbox in the center of the stone circle. Its lock seems to be broken, preventing anyone from closing it. But wait! There's a rubber band, broken, on the underside with it's ends visible. You assume this was used to keep the lunchbox closed for the poor kid who couldn't afford a new one.

Eat my ration and then head to the jungle and look for a few long straight pieces of wood.
You eat your ration and head straight for the jungle, passing Pauly.
[-] You wander around the foliage, looking for anything resembling a stick. It's oddly quiet in this biome. You're starting to wonder about this when you see a long stick, stuck in the sand in a clearing.
You hesitate. Could this be a trap set up by some intelligent being to trap adventurers like yourself?
