I just got a foal from two female horses.

Only horses on the map.

What Wild Animals are on the map, along with what Tamed Animals? I've heard tell that so long as a male and female of the same type of animal are on the field, their spores will mate and you will reap offspring.

Like I said...

I have just two horses and one donkey on this map.

They don't appear as wild animals there.

If a male horse showed up at any time on your map, hostile, wild, merchant, tame, hostile or otherwise, there's a chance it could impregnate your horses. Even if a wild horse showed up for just 1 tick, bam, spore pregnation.
