Silentthunders - A total history of the roads of justifying ~Complete Census~

This just happened.
And it's prompted me to begin recording the histories of each and every Dwarf, considering just how quickly the entire blood line of two families were destroyed in one day. Think about it, given the average lifespan of a Dwarf, just how much story are we missing in a game where the narrative is unbelievably in depth?
So I am going to create a complete census of every Dwarf that is or was a member of the roads of justifying.

Well... Let's get this started then. The census will be updated bit by bit. This is more a personal project/macro science thread than a community project, but it's more at home here than on DF general or DF discussion. It's a long work in progress, with the histories of over 120 Dwarves having to be recorded.

By migrant wave:
First wave (last updated 2nd of Malachite 416)
2nd Wave (last updated 7th of Felsite 416)
3rd Wave (last updated 26th Malachite 416)

Non-census articles
A brief explanation of how Silentthunders prepares for an end of the world siege. (Last updated 2nd Malachite 416).

First wave
The starting 7. The Dwarves that put the most into the Fortress, who without, would not exist. Among them are the Dwarves most skilled at what they do - and form quite possibly the deadliest soldiers in the entire Fortress. If one were to go berserk, heads would be parted from their relative bodies, people would starve, others would go melancholic and massive amounts of restructuring would have to take place.
The battle miners
These two part time miners part time stoneworks helped shape Silentthunders as it stands and provided the structure it now resembles, even being the ones to first dig into holy limestone, marble, even chert, and were the Dwarves who dug out what would make the moose pit. While largely unsung, their deeds were and still are vital to the existence of Silentthunders. The battle miners are often seen with the national syrups, guiding the few civilians to safety, and staying within the exposed headquarters. Should the main gates ever be defeated, the battle miners will fall with the HQ, ensuring all the gates are sealed, and the levers broken with them - ensuring the Dwarves within are protected forever.
The Urists
Although no longer the only Dwarves with the title Urist, these Dwarves were the first marksdwarves to set foot on Silentthunders and defend the rest of the civilized world from the horrors that reside in the spidery forest. After every major engagement the Urists are almost by tradition always found roaming the Spidery Forest, searching for any corpses that decide to not stay dead. Many times they have saved the fort, and it is said that if there's a creature a Urist cannot deal with, mobilize the fortress for war.
The Urists earned the title Urist for being sharp 'daggers' capable of hitting targets much farther away than normal Dwarves - even being able to shoot past the normal seeing distance. Before the physical walls of Silentthunders existed, the Urists made sure no undead crossed the border.
The Grandharvest and the Greatharvest
The two Dwarves responsible for everything nature based that's not set in stone in Silentthunders. These two set up the gargantuan agriculture system that has not failed Silentthunders yet - With the stockpiles being full of 6800 plants and 7000 units of alcohol at it's peak, varying from above and below ground crops, they are two of the most valuable Dwarves in the entire fortress, capable of providing vaunting amounts of delectables for a population of several dozens.
The Expedition Commander
The expedition leader, mayor and commander of the military. The expedition commander holds a lot of power within the confines of Silentthunders, and is the main representative of the Fortress.

Agreed. Posting to say I'm watching with interest. Also I thought I was going too far with tracking all the scars my military receives... you've proved me to not be going far enough!

We must dig deeper.

Just finished bringing the First Wave up to date, will finish more on the second wave tomorrow :]

It's funny, often we make decisions in DF without thinking about the fact that the Dwarves are the ones carrying out the tasks.

Every single one.

Often we do not question why they do it.

2nd Wave
All of these Dwarves arrived during an especially turbulent period of Silentthunder's history. Most of them form the leadership of the military and civilian workforce. There is very little I can say about them as a whole, as they all have such varied histories.

Give me a pick, give me a hammer, and give me my babies.
Battle miner + Hammerer = Those babies remind me of cave dragons.
Quite possibly the favoured of some gratuitously powerful god of conversation, labour and craftiness, these two are walking legends in Eshomamud.
Captain Cerol & Lor
These two were prominent military Dwarves, who roamed Silentthunders alongside the then few military Dwarves, and showed great potential before befalling terrible tragedy. They could've even been better than the Urists if the spidery forest's influence hadn't seen fit to take them.
Spoiler: Captain Cerol Amgeshud (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Lor Zoluthasob (click to show/hide)
On the 3rd of Galena 416, Lor and Cerol were buried beneath Silentthunders.

After the death of Silentthunder's first couple, the migrant wave naming system was put into effect.

Forge M. Olin Olonudist
Once upon a time I decided to make a Fortress forge master. For some reason I chose Olin. I assume past-overseer me had a good reason. If I did, I do not remember. Regardless, this inadvertently made Olin a very valuable worker. If there's something made out of metal in the fort, chances are Olin was the one responsible for its construction. Not even kidding there, up until the year of 415 Olin was the only metalsmith to make masterwork items in the entire fort. Partly because most of the fortress's metalworking industry was run entirely by Olin whilst the the other metalworkers trained to be forgemasters. If Fortress demand hadn't increased, Olin would still be the only metalworker producing goods in the entire fort.

2nd Forge M. Urdim Keldarud
When I first noticed Urdim, she was a great armorsmith. But like Olin, all she did when she first arrived was haul limestone, farm and build higher. By the time the metalworking industry was underway, she was all but forgotten as one Dwarf catered to the demands of a growing fortress.
And then suddenly another Dwarf was needed, and Urdim filled the niche.

Good Luck with the census. Can you put up the save?
I'd like to see the dwarves for myself.

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

For now Silentthunders is my personal project I'm keeping under wraps, trying out lots of new things I want to keep secret until (if?) the dramatic reveal. So sadly not yet.

I never thought about the individual dwarves this way.  I mean, the game lets us, but it's not something we commonly think about.

Oh my goodness. This is awesome. I started reading this and immediately felt as though I needed to play DF again. (After a good 3-4 month break.) So now I've started up another fortress and am taking a greater interest their individual lives, rather than the success of the fort as a whole. Probably should have been playing the game like that in the first place though.

Clearly, this represents six side-by-side wheelbarrows, as indicated by the right half of the icon.  The left half indicates they are carrying babies with hats in these wheelbarrows.

Presumably, they are lining up to dump them into the baby furnaces.

Thanks. Sometimes you forget each Dwarf has a story to tell, and once they're dead that story is gone. They can't all be bloody gods of war like Tholtig, Cacame or Morul, but behind each massive Dwarf Fortress there were Dwarves who brewed the booze, sewed the cloths, worked the forges and so on AND SO ON.
Yet most of the time when people remark on their fortresses they barely get a mention beyond "and then the dining room flooded killing everyone."

Anyways important moment for the fort, I was trying to look at some slabs through the stocks screen when I accidentally fell unto the stones/blocks section and my computer actually didn't explode (too much).

10,000 marble blocks!

Third wave
Captain Ingish, Doc Tekkud Oakchanneled and R. Cerol were the only three Dwarves to show up in the third wave, when at that time a small outpost called Silentthunders was expecting much more... Influential support.
When questioned on why only the three of them showed up, Cerol glared ominously into the distance, Tekkud said that it was safer for them to travel through (the then more) dangerous forests in small groups and Ingish said that the three of them hadn't even shown up together, only stumbling upon each other by chance.
B.M. Manager Deler assumes these are cover stories from the Axe of covers - who may have been expecting the outpost to befall terrible tragedy early on - explaining the small group (as well as the doctor).
Dwarves to bury the dead, to heal the sick and seal the tombs.
Fortunately the crossbows were strong, and the three were greeted by a small stronghold fit with a secure booze stockpile and a decent dormitory - with stone block flooring!

Three One-thirds of the Third Wave makes for an unhappy manager
